With £63m being invested in expanding and modernising the Prestwick site, it's clear that the aerospace industry is continuing to invest in the capacity needed to meet future demand.

We’re looking for a 𝗙𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿 to join our Manufacturing team at Accrofab Alcester on the late shift. ⚙️

The role is hands-on, with plenty of variety across fettling, deburring, polishing, weld dressing and blending, fitting parts and checking finished components against engineering drawings.

You’ll need a good eye for detail, a steady hand and the ability to work accurately with thin-gauge sheet metal. Previous experience in sheet metal finishing, fettling, deburring, polishing or a similar manufacturing environment is preferred.

It’s a big question, and one that isn’t always easy to answer!

Over the last couple of weeks, our Alcester team has been out at local school careers fairs, chatting with Year 9, 10 and 11 students about what comes next. University, apprenticeships, or something else entirely, there are plenty of options to consider.

We’ve had some great conversations about engineering and lots of interest in our work experience programme, which gives students the chance to spend a week with us, see our processes in action and get a feel for what working in the industry is really like.

It’s great to see so much interest from young people and to give them a chance to experience engineering first-hand.

Airbus boosts global production with £150m UK investment. ✈️

Turning the former A380 wing facility into a dedicated A321 production line is a major change for Broughton, with six wing production jigs, an equipping line and a paint shop being introduced to support Airbus’ growing order book.

Investments like this don’t just increase aircraft production. They drive demand across the wider manufacturing network, from major assemblies through to the fabricated and machined components that go into them.

That’s an area we’re proud to support, supplying components to major Engine and Airframe OEMs as a trusted Tier 1 aerospace supplier.
