A life-sized Dalek set to ‘Exterminate’ £3,000+ at Auction…
An extraordinary piece of Doctor Who memorabilia is set to command attention at the Derbyshire Autumn Toy Auction with Hansons Auctioneers on Thursday 22nd October, where this imposing 170cm-tall Dalek carries an estimate of £2,000-£3,000.
Constructed by Robert Phillips, this impressive life-size replica showcases a remarkable blend of engineering and craftsmanship. Fully motorised with joystick control, it features powered dome and eyestalk movement, alongside a water gun. Aluminium light cages and gun, fibreglass hemispheres and dome, and an array of handmade components complete this striking sci-fi creation.
Its appeal is further enhanced by signatures from five notable names associated with the legendary series, found on the underside of the head unit: Nicholas Briggs, the voice of the Daleks; Terry Molloy, played Davros; Barnaby Edwards; Jon Davey and Dan Starkey.
Beyond its impressive scale and collectable appeal, this Dalek carries a particularly poignant story. It comes from the collection of the late Tim Pollard, an avid collector or all things science fiction, whose passion for extraordinary objects reminds us that their true value often extends far beyond the material.
