Position Overview:
As a Domiciliary Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in their own homes. You will assist with medication management, personal care, light household chores, enabling support, and meal preparation, ensuring our clients can maintain their independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and assistance with mobility.
- Administer medication as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication records.
- Assist clients with light household chores, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Support clients in engaging with their community and accessing local resources.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for clients.
- Monitor and report changes in service users’ health or well-being to appropriate personnel.
- Uphold the dignity and respect of all service users , promoting their independence and self-esteem.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by the company and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Empathy and compassion for individuals with varying needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic cooking skills and knowledge of nutrition is preferred.
- Personal Attributes:
- A positive attitude and a genuine passion for helping others.
- Reliability and punctuality in attending scheduled shifts.
- A commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and dignity at all times.
- Other Requirements:
- A current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to undergo one.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
