At Green My Business we aim to provide environmentally friendly products that are efficient and affordable. We have always promoted recycling among our customers by offering free collection of used containers as part of our internal van delivery service – which we then wash and recycle.

However we are striving to go further than that by working with our suppliers to create closed loop plastics systems for an ever increasing range of products.

We have extended our range of environmentally friendly refuse sacks! We now stock Green Sacks™ in HD Black, Medium Duty Clear, Black Compactor, Clear Compactor and Medium Duty Green!

The sacks are manufactured buy one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of refuse sacks - RPC bpi refuse. They support the circular economy by turning plastic, otherwise destined for landfill, into second-life products. The company recycles more than 150,000 tonnes of plastic material each year, giving new life to polythene from commercial, industrial, packaging and agricultural sources.

The Green Sack™ range is 100% recycled refuse sacks, which offers the toughest, greenest UK-manufactured refuse sacks for the retail, janitorial, food service and local authority markets. The Green Sack™ range not only helps conserve resources and reduce landfill, but is produced at RPC bpi refuse's in-house facility, giving it a carbon footprint up to a third lower than alternative recycled refuse sacks typically produced in the Far East.

We are happy to work with this company, as this sets RPC bpi refuse apart from other manufacturers in terms of sustainable procurement: clients that buy second-life recycled products such as its recycled refuse sacks save valuable resources and inject income into the national economy. They are also helping to save the planet, as every tonne of polythene recycled by the company saves 1.8 tonnes of crude oil, reduces energy use by two thirds, uses 90 per cent less water and cuts sulphur dioxide emissions by 33 per cent.

We now have new Biodegradable nitrile gloves in stock that break down 10x faster than standard nitrile. These are called Bluple Nitrile Gloves and they do not take an extended period to biodegrade using BDG technology.
So what is BDG technology? BDG technology integrates the existing manufacturing process with compromising product quality. It comprises of an organic addictive to accelerate the biodegradation rate of gloves in biologically active landfills.

How does it work? BDG is a 'food source' specially formulated to attract microbes found in landfills. When bacteria consume the BDG they excrete and enzyme that dissolves and de-polymerises the polymer chain. The process called mineralisation allowing the microbes to break down the remaining polymer naturally, leaving behind only biogas, eater and inert soil.

So why choose the Bluple Nitrile Gloves? Firstly to contribute to the sustainable development goals of making a sustainable and brighter future. Global waste grows every year and is expected to grow to 34o billion tonnes by 2050, we are running out of space. Globally about 37 percent of waste is dumped of or disposes of in landfill. If this continues we will have no space left for living. Using Bluple Nitrile Gloves also lessens the amount of greenhouse gas emissions and just overall minimises waste. As BDG contains and organic additive it is also an eco friendly option in the medical industry to reduce the risk of cross contamination, along with use in the food industry as they are made in compliance with regulatory bodies.
