💘How to sustain healthy s*xual relationships💘 - NEW PODCAST OUT NOW!
Relationships are an important part of a healthy life. Research has consistently shown that social connections are critical for both mental and physical health. People who have healthy relationships have better health outcomes, are more likely to engage in healthy behaviours, and have a decreased risk of mortality.
S*xuality is the way we experience and express ourselves s*xually. It involves feelings, desires, actions, and identity, and can include many different types of physical touch or stimulation. Intimacy is a feeling of closeness and connectedness in a relationship that can occur with or without a physical component.
Ageing brings life transitions that can create opportunities for older adults to redefine what s*xuality and intimacy mean to them. Some older adults strive for both a s*xual and intimate relationship, some are content with one without the other, and still others may choose to avoid these types of connections.
I would like to introduce my guest today, Lovett, a mutual friend recommended I chat with PJ and after a great meeting over a scrummy frapaccino! PJ runs an organisation called Rephrase SW Relationships and S*x Education Providing Healthy Relationships And S*x Education. She established this venture following a long-held passion and belief that every young person deserves access to good quality relationships and s*x education. Since the age of 14, she has been interested in working in the field of RSE and attained a Psychology degree with the idea of specialising in the area of s*xual therapy.
