Our cask Altbier is really on top form today. This Anglicized version of a traditional Düsseldorf style is malty, nutty, and not too sweet. Despite having nothing really to do with the actual Oktoberfest down in Munich, it lends itself perfectly to the brisk and blustery Autumn we are entering. And yes, you can have a Stein of it. It's Oktober, and you know what that means: Bier!
We've been brewing some absolutely cracking German-inspired brews over the last few weeks, and finally here they are!

🛡️JUTHWARA SAXON - Festbier (5.5%)
Our flagship Festbier. Is it a Märzen? Is it an Export Helles? Whatever you call it, this amber beauty might be the best l***r we've ever made. Hugely drinkable with notes of honey, toasted brioche and a hint of banana balanced with just the right amount of hop bitterness for an extremely satisfying finish. Very Stein-able!

🤠 OKTOBERFEST - Altbier (4.7%)
An obscure style from the Düsseldorf region of Northern Germany (don't tell the Bavarians), this one is dark and malty without being overly sweet. We've given it an English twist by putting it in cask, and it being our b**r of the week you can have a Stein of it for only £6! Prost 🍻

🐙 BEARDY - Weizen-Doppelbock (7.5%)
Our mighty Doppelbock offering, this one is a strong dark wheat b**r with big hits of spice up front, and a very pleasant warming finish. Think malt loaf and dried fruits. It really comes alive when left for a minute or two to come up to temperature. You can have a Stein if you want, just be warned it goes down very easy!

In addition, GHOST SHIP and BRIXHAM TRAWLER join the new brews to complete our Oktoberfest lineup.

It's another beautiful Sunday! A welcome sight after yesterday's drizzle. I can't think of a better b**r to enjoy in the early Autumn sunshine than DEVON FARMHOUSE (5.2%), our bright golden Saison.

Inspired by end-of-harvest b**rs from Northern France and Belgium, this is one for lovers of complex herbal, citrussy and slightly funky brews like Saison Dupont or De Dolle. All that doesn't stop it from being incredibly thirst-quenching in the afternoon sun, especially after, say, a hot day toiling in the fields 🙂

Worth trying if you like your dry ciders too, thanks to its characteristic farmyard-y tang!

Have you tried our 3.5% sour KRAKEN yet? It's a bright, tangy and highly sessionable pale b**r that offers the same level of refreshment as the finest l***r, but with a more-ish tartness that really cuts through muggy weather like today. Try it as it comes, or with one of 3 syrups - peach, raspberry or elderflower (my favourite). Great for those looking for an entry point into b**r without it tasting too "b**ry" 😀
