🎖️ How can Exeter and the wider South West strengthen the UK's defence and technology capabilities?

Regional leaders came together at Exeter Science Park, in partnership with David Reed MP, Shadow Minister for Defence, to explore how the South West can build on its strengths in defence, technology and national resilience.

As David Reed MP said:

“Devon already has an extraordinary concentration of expertise that can play a much bigger role in strengthening Britain's defence and national resilience. From the Royal Marines at Lympstone and the Met Office to our universities and innovative local businesses, we have organisations doing remarkable work, particularly in developing technology and capabilities for extreme environments."

The discussion brought together representatives from the Met Office, University of Exeter, Plymouth Science Park, South West Business Council, Exeter City Council, East Devon District Council and Devon County Council. Richard Foord MP, Liberal Democrat MP for Honiton and Sidmouth and chair of the South West APPG, also took part.

By connecting our regional strengths, we can help create new opportunities for collaboration, innovation and investment across the South West.

With National Hate Crime Awareness Week taking place from 10–17 October, we’re proud to share an important step. 🫶

Our community is built on respect and inclusion. Everyone who works at, visits or is part of Exeter Science Park should feel safe and welcome, and hate has no place here.

To support that commitment, we’ve become a Hate Crime Third-Party Reporting Centre, working in partnership with Devon & Cornwall Police as part of their Zero Tolerance to Hate Crime campaign.

If you experience or witness a hate crime or hate incident, you can report it to us instead of going directly to the police. We know there are many reasons people may not feel comfortable contacting the police, and that shouldn’t stop anyone from being heard.

🥂 Celebrating a new space and an exciting milestone for our park community!

We were delighted to join Morgan Sindall Construction to celebrate the opening of their new office here at Exeter Science Park.

It was a fantastic evening, bringing together the Morgan Sindall Construction team, and the wider network to celebrate their new space and everything it represents for the team.

A huge thank you to Morgan Sindall Construction for inviting us along, and to Alex Goulden for organising such a great evening. 👏

We’re looking forward to seeing the new office come to life and continuing to support the team as part of the Exeter Science Park community. 🌟

A new season brings new changes at Exeter Science Park! 🍁

Our community continues to grow and evolve, and so does the team behind it.

Since joining us as Chief Executive in May, Lindsay Lucas has been leading the organisation into the next stage of its development, and we’re delighted to share some well-deserved promotions across the team.

👏 Rob Owen has been appointed Head of Operations.

👏 David Morgan, our longest-serving team member, has been promoted to Client Services Manager.

👏 Richard Northcott has been promoted to Operations Support.

It’s always great to see our Park business community come together. 🤝

Yesterday, we welcomed businesses from across our community for our quarterly Meet the Business event, Growth Without Guesswork.

The afternoon was all about connecting, sharing experiences and learning from one another — with plenty of valuable insights, great conversations and, of course, a pig in a blanket or two! 🎄

A huge thank you to Trowers & Hamlins and our Park Community member Exe Insurance for sharing their expertise, and to everyone who came along and helped make the afternoon such a success. 🙌
