Was called out to have a look at a combination dryer, something didn't seem right. The filters were clogging and it just didn't seem to be as powerful.
After a full inspection, you can see the dander within the casing.. we had it cleaned and serviced.

This got me to thinking, what do you do within your salon to help protect yourself against dander?

When was the last time your blaster/dryer was serviced?

The top picture was the carbon brushes that came out of a blaster the other day and the bottom one is the carbon brush I replaced it with. What a big difference.
When the carbon brush that is required to create the friction to produce the air is worn then the blaster will get so much hotter, smell a faint burning smell and will eventually just stop.
The thing is if you leave it too late, the motor itself will get damaged from the worn brushed 😔

A regular serve every 9-12months will keep that blaster/dryer working well.

Anybody agree, that these are so difficult to clean?

One of the hardest for us to clean in a salon but a good paint brush, warm water and washing up liquid works very well to clean these 😀

Have you cleaned your filters?

So many times I come across filters covered in so much hair and dander. A clogged filter puts a lot of strain on the motor/s within the dryer/blasters by restricting the air flow that is required to produce the air required to dry those lovely fur babies.

A full service and a replacement hinge for this set of Heiniger saphir's

These clippers received a new blade drive, seal, hinge also cleaned all the old grease from the inside. Fresh heiniger grease applied.

We only use original parts on all our clipper servicing and repairs.

Cheeky wee repair on this luxor blaster.

The customer said it stopped working, a full inspection of the blaster and this small component was burnt out. A nice new PCB board and a service of motors whilst it was open and it's back up and running.

SAFETY CHECK EVERYONE

I've come across a lot of this. The plug was burnt and melted due to excessive heat caused by high electrical resistance or drawing too much power.

• This can be caused by loose connection, a worn wall socket for example. Overtime these lose their grip.
• Overloading of an extension with too many high powered appliances.
• Corrosion is another, especially within the salon.

Before you start using your equipment have a look at those plugs and wires. If you suspect something isn't right, stop using the appliance and have it repaired asap.

If it doesn't seem right we will replace/repair it.
