A selection of photos from my weekend with St Cuthberts Church Halsall, for their Harvest and Community Celebrations. I am truly amazed and blessed at how this congregation has grasped the opportunities around them since I was last with them. The feeling around the village and the joy of all who engaged was just wonderful to witness. I can't have favourite clients, but this one has been right up there as an absolute highlight.

Back for day two! Lots of fun to be had at St Cuthberts Church Halsall and the school down the road, then it's a special Harvest celebration service at 4pm with some guy called Dan bringing the Bible reflections

Day one of two done at St Cuthberts Church Halsall with some wonderful harvest themed community engagement. I set up a blessing basket, and then helped out by running the belfry tours and doing my usual chatting with people. Wonderful to have so many people from the village come in, including many of them who hadn't been in the building for many (many) years. Back again tomorrow including preaching at the afternoon Harvest Songs of Praise gathering. Love this all so much

🍎🌻As the seasons change and the fields move from the greens of summer into the golden colours of autumn, Harvest gives us a wonderful opportunity to pause and give thanks. 🍎🌻

🚜🌾We give thanks for the food we enjoy, for the land around us, and for the people who work so hard throughout the year to grow and produce it. 🚜🌾

A very special thank you to our local farmers, whose dedication, hard work and care for the land help provide for us all.

🙏And at the heart of Harvest is the reminder that, through every changing season, God continues to provide. 🙏

🌾 Halsall Harvest Weekend – Farming Through the Ages 🌾
📅 Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th October
⏰ 11am–4pm each day
📍 St Cuthbert's Church & School

Come along and enjoy a wonderful weekend celebrating our farming heritage, our community and the blessings of Harvest.

There will be plenty to see and do, including:

🚜 Displays of old farming photographs, tractors, machinery and museum pieces
👩‍🌾 Local produce sale
👢 Children’s activities
🔔 Bell ringing
⛪ Belfry tours
☕ Lunch bags and refreshments
🍲 Saturday evening Harvest Hotpot Supper
📖 A programme of activities available beforehand for just £1
🎶 Harvest Songs of Praise – Sunday at 4pm

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦❤️There really will be something for everyone — young and old! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦❤️

Most of all, we hope the weekend will be a chance for our whole community to come together, meet friends and neighbours, enjoy our local heritage and celebrate all that we have been given.

The Scotland's Places of Worship Fund, operated by Historic Environment Scotland, is now open for applications.

If you look after a listed place of worship in Scotland, you can now apply for support to cover the cost of the VAT element paid on repair, maintenance and conservation works that are currently under way or have been carried out or completed since 1 April 2026.

Funding will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
