Last week, TSCM officially launched at Blayde.

If you're wondering what that means, TSCM stands for Technical Surveillance Countermeasures.

In plain English, it's a check for hidden listening devices, covert cameras and tracking equipment, in rooms, vehicles and properties. 🔍

Anything that's there to watch or listen that shouldn't be.

So when would you actually book one?

For most people, the answer is "before", not "after":

We passed! 👊

We've just passed our annual ACS and BS 10119 (COP 119) audits, which makes this year 12 of holding ACS status.

ACS is a voluntary scheme.

No one forces a security company to be independently audited, but we'd rather you didn't have to take our word for it.

So when you hand us your keys, your alarm response or your site overnight, you're trusting a standard that's been checked by someone other than us. 🤝

Twelve years in, we still think that's the right way round.

Do it properly, then let someone else prove it.

Switched off doesn't mean invisible. ⚡

As surveillance technology gets more advanced, so does the equipment needed to find it.

Two pieces do a lot of the heavy lifting in our TSCM service.

We can finally announce it. 🔍

Blayde now offers Technical Surveillance Countermeasures, or TSCM for short.

In plain English, we check rooms, vehicles and properties for hidden listening devices, covert cameras and tracking equipment.

Why now?

Because the technology has moved on.

Recording and tracking equipment is smaller, cheaper and easier to get hold of than ever, and AI can turn hours of captured audio into searchable text in moments.

A private conversation in the wrong hands is simply worth more than it used to be.

We're one of a handful of security companies in the UK with access to this technology, and we believe it's game-changing for the clients we look after today and the ones we haven't met yet.

A security firm isn't required to do any of this. 😳

No law says we need ACS accreditation, the voluntary audit that checks how we operate day to day.

No law says we need to follow BS10119, the code of practice for labour supply standard.

No law says every member of staff has to be screened to BS7858, the British Standard covering background checks and right-to-work verification for security personnel.

We do all three anyway.

⚠️The industry has a reputation problem, and the minimum legal standard is part of why. ⚠️

We'd rather go further than tell you we're an exception.

If a provider can't tell you what standards they hold themselves to, that's usually the answer in itself.

We're having an audit.

Nobody made us. We asked for it. 😊

Blayde holds SIA Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) status, a voluntary audit that checks everything from staff vetting to how we handle complaints, and most security companies never put themselves forward for it.

We also work to BS10119, the official code of practice for keyholding and response services, again, not a legal requirement, just something we think matters.

Why put ourselves through it every year?

Because "trust us" isn't good enough on its own.

We'd rather be checked, measured, and held to a standard, than just tell you we're good.
