We provide specialist Lead In Paint Surveys and Analysis to help identify lead based coatings before refurbishment, renovation, or demolition works begin.

Lead In Paint can still be found in older buildings built before 1992, and disturbing it without proper assessment can create avoidable health and compliance risks. Our surveys help clients understand where Lead is present above the safety threshold, allowing projects to move forward safely and efficiently.

Contractors and property owners are legally required under the Control of Lead at Work Regulations (CLAW) 2002 to identify and manage potential lead exposure risks before any work begins.

If you need a Lead In Paint survey before any works begin, we offer:

•Site inspection and assessment
•Sampling and analysis of painted surfaces
•Clear reporting with practical recommendations
•Support for refurbishment, demolition, and redevelopment projects

This week, a group of 8 delegates from various trade industries took part in our Non Licensed Work (NLW) Training, and it was a fantastic day of learning, discussion, and hands on practice.

The session reinforced the importance of maintaining the highest safety standards when working with non licensed asbestos materials. Keeping tradespeople safe, compliant and confident when dealing with asbestos.

Huge thanks to Alec Smith for delivering an engaging and informative course, and well done to everyone who attended!

Proper training and annual refresher training is a legal requirement specified by HSE to keep your staff in the trades industry safe and compliant when dealing with Non Licensed Asbestos materials.

Alongside our Non-Licensed Works Training, we also delivered Face Fit Testing for delegates across a range of trades.

Face fit testing is essential for any trades worker required to wear a tight-fitting respiratory mask. Whether you're an electrician, roofer, carpenter, bricklayer, or involved in demolition, ensuring your mask fits correctly is critical to your safety.

A proper face fit test confirms that the mask forms an effective seal, protecting the wearer from hazardous dusts, fibres, and airborne contaminants. It’s a legal requirement and a key part of maintaining safe working environments. A huge thank you to everyone who took part!

If you or your team need Face Fit Testing get in touch to find out more.

It's Global Asbestos Awareness Week!

Why is asbestos so dangerous? 🤔

Although asbestos was banned after the year 2000, it is still responsible for thousands of deaths every year.

In the UK, over 5,000 people die yearly from asbestos related diseases, one of the highest global rates.

Worldwide, asbestos exposure causes an estimated 237,000 work related deaths annually.

Those who work in trades such as Plumbers, Electricians, and Demolition workers are most at risk. 👷‍♂️

The most common asbestos related causes of death are lung cancer and mesothelioma.

This is a reminder that we are available to address any asbestos related queries and provide support. If you legally require an asbestos survey or are worried you may have discovered it. We can provide specialist testing and surveying services to ensure your property is safe and secure.

Please do get in contact with our team, who are happy to help.

Most people think asbestos is just a type of material.

Asbestos refers to a group of naturally occurring minerals that were widely used in construction because of their heat resistance, strength, and insulating properties.

There are three types that account for most of the asbestos used in buildings:

Chrysotile (White Asbestos)

The most used type. It was widely installed in floor tiles, cement roof sheets, ceilings, and textured coatings.

Amosite (Brown Asbestos)

Considered one of the most hazardous as it is more durable and of higher concentration, making it more dangerous when inhaled. Distinguishable by its brown, thin, needle-like fibres. Commonly found in cement sheets, pipe insulation, and thermal insulation products.

Crocidolite (Blue Asbestos)

Often considered the most dangerous type due to its extremely fine fibres. It was used in steam engine insulation.

These materials were widely used in buildings constructed or refurbished before the year 2000, which is why proper identification and management remain critical today.

If you work within areas that may contain asbestos and would like more information or help with any queries, feel free to get in touch!
