A little custom comfort clip today for Donna Homer’s gorgeous retired dressage super cob Milo. Always such a good boy, Milo grows a thick and fluffy winter coat which makes him sweaty and itchy. Taking ‘a little off the top’ does the trick, then he’s back out in the field with his mates to continue making mischief 💕

These handsome chaps started the clipping season off with a swing! A trace for gorgeous Troy and a full clip for adorable Riley 🥰. Both were beautifully behaved and are much more comfortable with their winter fluff under control ✂️

Venetian blinds…they look lovely, but can be fiddly and time consuming to clean 🧼 It’s one of those jobs you never get time for, and that’s where I come in 🙂

My favourite product to use for this is ‘Elbow Grease’ spray-it’s amazing stuff! Work in sections with a microfibre cloth and hot water and dry as you go. Here’s a before and after from a deep clean this week ✨

‘Blended’ legs 🦵

Cobs often suffer with hyperkeratosis, known as mallanders/sallanders. This can cause cracked and scabby skin behind the knees and on the front/inside of the hock joints. Clipping the hair away can make washing and applying creams much easier, keeping the condition under control. When your horse does not require a full clip or a clip where legs are not left fluffy, blended legs can create a more natural appearance whilst removing the necessary hair. This works brilliantly with trimming feathers too.

I have limited availability for clipping over the next few months, but please do get in touch for all your clipping needs! If I am not available I highly recommend my friend Aimée Haynes-she’s amazing!

My first clip of the year is (almost) complete-just his fluffy legs to do tomorrow morning! The very handsome Sid was extremely well behaved thanks to a constant stream of treats from his owner 😂 This is an Irish clip with a half head, the front legs will be clipped and the back legs will be clipped below the knee and blended. I’ll post a picture of the finished article tomorrow 💕

As I closed the door on my final mucked out stable today, I thought I’d share a few photos of the last couple of months. It’s been a busy time with so many people going on holiday now that lockdown restrictions have been lifted-I’ve had an extremely jealous Dylan whilst he’s had to share his Mum with so many of his mates! It’s a privilege to be trusted with someone else’s pride and joy. Thank you for being such good ponies! 🥰
