It is a reminder to check in on ourselves and the people around us, and to talk openly about mental wellbeing.

Today is World Sight Day.

Sight usually changes slowly, and most people adjust to it without really registering that they have. The early signs often turn up somewhere other than the eyes, in a bruise from catching a doorframe or in fewer trips upstairs than there used to be.

Small changes at home help more than people expect. Brighter bulbs on the stairs and landing, loose rugs lifted, and the things used every day kept exactly where they have always been.

We at Guardian Angel Carers are really excited to be organising our Fleet Craft & Community Fair at Crookham Memorial Hall on Saturday 24th October, 1:00–4:15pm.

We’ll have a lovely selection of handmade crafts and gifts from our talented carers and local small businesses — including beautiful fused glass, quilting and textiles, handmade gifts, autumn and Halloween goodies, and plenty of ideas for birthdays and Christmas. 🎁✨

Today we are taking a moment to raise awareness of the opportunities and challenges of our ageing population, and to celebrate everything older people bring to the communities around them. Our CareAngels are lucky in this. They spend their days with people who have lived through a great deal and still have plenty to say about it.

Growing older is something to look forward to, and something worth planning for. Both of those things are true at once.
