SAFETY ALERT issued by Rush Technologies UK. Read on for the official alert direct from Head Rush:

"We’re contacting you to let you know that we have discovered a component on a limited number of auto belay devices that if mounted below specific heights could cause impaired retraction and pose a fall and injury hazard for your climbers.

We ask that you follow the link below to read the full safety alert to determine if you own one (or more) of the potentially affected devices. It should only take a few minutes to check.

If you have an affected device(s), rest assured that we will cover the cost of any repairs and return the device to you as quickly as possible.

Happy to help out again with Wiltonfest, unfortunately wasn't able to spend the day doing workshop's as usual so provided beer and raffle prizes instead.

Thank you to Northern Monkey Brew co for sorting me and some happy climbers with beer.

Completion of a recent project.

This wall has been out of use for a few years now and the last picture was how we found it.

After plenty of structural works, new top anchors, new quickdraws, new mats, protective perspex window panels, new ropes and all new holds and volumes. It is good to go!

Some good news for climbing centres and customers.
Remember to take it easy for the first few sessions back and keep up the buddy checks also.

A climber's best friend?

The Chalk Research commissioned last year has been peer reviewed and the results can be seen on the link below.

In short, the findings are that "the amount of infectious SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) was reduced by around 99% immediately upon contact with chalky surfaces."

Obviously Covid can be transmitted in other ways so please carry on following the government guidance.

Thank you to DeMontfort University for conducting the research and to The Warehouse Climbing Centre & The Lakeland Climbing Centre for making it possible πŸ™
