‘Little Star’s Childminding’

For the past five years, I operated my business from home. During this period, I dedicated myself to providing care and support for the children, utilising the available space as effectively as possible. Securing a New Space
Recognising the need for a m

ore suitable environment, I had been considering relocating my business for some time. After careful planning and searching, I have now secured a new setting at West Faversham Community Centre which I will start here from January 2026, This venue offers an improved and appropriate space to accommodate the children in my care, enhancing both their experience and my ability to support them. Qualifications and Team Structure
I hold a Level 4 qualification in childcare and have received training in safeguarding as well as Special Educational Needs Coordination (SENCO). In addition, I have completed various courses addressing challenging behaviours, which have equipped me with the skills necessary to provide comprehensive support to the children in my care. She serves as my deputy and co-childminder, supporting me in managing daily activities and ensuring the wellbeing of the children.
• Heidi: An assistant who is also undertaking her Level 3 qualification. She contributes to the smooth running of our setting and provides valuable support to both staff and children.
• Grace: An assistant who helps with everyday tasks and supports the team in caring for the children.
• Michelle: Holds a Level 3 qualification and currently works as a co-childminder, helps with everyday tasks.
• Hannah: My sister, responsible for preparing meals in the kitchen and handling cleaning duties afterwards to maintain a hygienic environment, which she has the relevant food hygiene training. Healthy Eating and Nutrition
We actively encourage all children to enjoy a healthy, cooked lunch and tea each day. In addition to main meals, the children are offered snacks throughout the day, which typically include fresh fruit, breadsticks, or crackers. During snack time, milk is served, while water is provided at lunch and always remains readily available to the children by having their own water bottles. Our menu is carefully selected and supplied by the nursery catering company, ensuring a balanced and nutritious diet for everyone in our care. Use of Facilities and Outdoor Activities
Within the centre, we will have designated times for the children to access the sensory room, providing opportunities for sensory exploration and relaxation. The soft play area will also be utilised on a regular basis, allowing the children to develop their physical skills in a safe and stimulating environment. In addition, we make frequent visits to the local park, ensuring that the children benefit from fresh air and outdoor play. Whenever possible, we also take advantage of our outdoor space, encouraging children to engage in a variety of activities and enjoy time outside. We are open Monday to Friday 9-5 term time only. Earlier starts can be arranged

Today we welcomed Football Fun Factory for a World Cup‑themed trial session with the Little Stars children, and it was absolutely fantastic. The session was full of energy, imagination and teamwork from start to finish.
The children jumped in and out of different coloured cones representing countries, choosing who they wanted to “play for” and exploring the World Cup theme through movement and play. They even created their own World Cups using cones and balls, proudly showing off their designs.
There was plenty of football fun as the children dropped balls into goals, set off pretend fireworks using upside‑down cones, and threw balls onto cones to flip them over. These activities encouraged coordination, confidence and lots of laughter.
Teamwork was a big highlight too. The children worked together by holding a bib between them and balancing a ball, carefully navigating around defenders before scoring a goal. This helped them practise communication, cooperation and problem‑solving while having loads of fun.
It was a brilliant trial session full of World Cup excitement, physical play and happy faces all round. We can’t wait for more.

Thank you Dan @ football fun factory ⚽️🥅

This week we have learnt about fire and firefighters, an incredibly rich topic that beautifully covers all seven areas of the EYFS framework. Through imaginative role-play with high-visibility uniforms, the children naturally built communication skills, learned the value of teamwork, and overcame anxieties about emergency situations. It gave a physical boost to fine motor skills through squeezing water spray bottles to extinguish chalk flames. Furthermore, the theme wove foundational mathematics and literacy into our daily play through counting down station alarms, watching fire man Sam and reading safety stories, while fostering a vital understanding of the world by teaching the children about community roles and life-saving safety habits like calling 999. We also did a fire drill to end the week with all children. 🔥⭐️

Frogs and Tadpoles week 😍

We’ve had so much fun exploring frogs through a range of exciting activities! 🐸
The children enjoyed painting jumping frogs, looking closely at frog spawn, hopping across lily pads, and working together to create a frog pond. These hands-on experiences helped support their creativity, curiosity, language, balance, and coordination, while also teaching them more about the frog life cycle and natural habitats. What a lovely way to learn through play! 💚

This week has been all about caterpillars and butterflies. We made caterpillar bodies using green bubble paint, created butterfly pictures, explored The Very Hungry Caterpillar puzzles, watched our caterpillars grow, and enjoyed story time with the book and props. We also dug for caterpillars in jelly and Coco Pops, then shared a snack inspired by the fruits and vegetables from the story. Our Little Stars have had a wonderful week! 🍏🍇🦋

Our Flower Week was a blooming success, filled with sensory exploration and creative play! The children became little gardeners as they practiced planting seeds and learning what flowers need to grow, like water and sunshine. A highlight of the week was using magnifying glasses to take a closer look at our blooms; the children were fascinated to discover the tiny details of petals, pollen, and stems that are usually hidden from view. We explored a variety of textures at our blossom-filled tuff tray, used bright petals to create nature crafts, and practiced counting with colorful flowers. It was wonderful to see their curiosity grow alongside our flowers, helping them develop a gentle touch and a genuine appreciation for the natural world.💐🪻🌹🎋
