On the note of finding my confidence again, here’s my take on the 2024 ins and outs 👌

I’m not expecting to win at them all - all of the time. It’s the trying that counts.

I may also find new ones on the way, and that’s ok.

If there’s anything I’ve learned from last year is that it’s really baby steps.

Just a little thank you to everyone who’s followed me since the beginning of my freelance journey to now.

I don’t think I would be where I am without it - and your support along the way has been hugely encouraging. The people I’ve met and message regularly, the friends I’ve made and the clients I’m now so thankful to be working for.

For the first time in a long time, life feels good, I’m content and happy. Raising two young girls and working for me was thrilling but not easy, but I’m proud I did it. I’m a big believer in fate so really feel it was all meant to be.

Anyway, I appreciate my content has changed a bit. Thanks for bearing with. I’m experimenting but kind of excited to show just ‘me’ here.. not just a mum… or just a home interiors account… I have wider interests, connections and such a love for the property industry.

Something I’m keen to share more here + also on LinkedIn (and maybe TikTok if I stop falling into a scroll hole).

Anyway, thank you again 🫶

*Swipe for the beautiful yet crazy postpartum life. Where I’d often sit in the rocking chair and think about what a self employed business was all about.

Back when it was sunny… 🍂

Made it through my first half term.. part ‘holiday’ and part working.

One blink and it’ll be Christmas won’t it?

Ps how pretty is the pink door… 🌸

Spotted this absolute beauty in Fleet at the weekend.

I'm slowly getting to that stage where taking a four and two-year-old out on a long walk doesn't fill me with dread with endless demands for snacks or cries for going back home...

Oh, how I've missed just walking around for walking's sake. Exploring new pretty locations and finding some wonderful properties along the way.

My perfect Sunday!

I've always jokingly said that I would pay to nose around people's homes but always realise this is a bit odd. But then again, this is surely why is so popular...

Does anyone else have a fascination for property hunting on the weekends? 😅

Spilling the tea on Threads ☕️🧵

Thanks to a late night on Thursday, I was one of the first members to join (number 283954!) and now there are more than 100 million users...

While I disagree that there can be any experts yet (we are all in the experiment stages) as a social media consultant I can't help but put some predictions out there for how this fits into a brand's overall content strategy 🪡

1) Forcing authenticity: For a brand that has struggled to find its voice that relates to its target market, Threads is the place to really 'let go' and let the personality develop.

2) Un-curated content: Ever struggled to create content? Yes, everyone raise your hands (me included). This app is more freeing. Without the constraints of a perfect image/video required for reach - a simple update/insight/question will do.

3) Quick wins for Instagram: The fact that Threads links to your Instagram profile means there has got to be a benefit to joining the two - in time we will see more feature updates which will no doubt help increase visibility over on IG.

4) More visibility: With no analytics to view yet, it's time for brands to enjoy the ride. Be discovered by new users and see your IG page numbers also receive a boost.

We really are seeing the most 'social' app we've had for a while.

Have you downloaded it yet? What are your thoughts on Threads?

In the week Elon Musk is limiting how many tweets its users can read, Meta is set to launch its rival channel 'Threads' on Thursday.

This is what we know so far:

- It will be a free service, with no restrictions on how many posts a user can see.

- It syncs with your connected data on Facebook and Instagram, finding relevant people to follow.

- Screengrabs show how identical it looks to Twitter.

I lost my chirpiness for Twitter long ago, but I can appreciate its importance for many large brands as a customer care tool and for journalists to communicate their stories.

Perhaps now we'll see the biggest shake-up in social media marketing since the arrival of TikTok...

What are your thoughts?

Visibility is important. Burning out is not.

I like to find a natural, achievable level of consistency with my clients.

Enough content could mean daily stories and three posts per week.

For others, that means just two posts per week, and stories when there is content.

Or increased posting leading up to an event or a launch. Perhaps even just once per month.

There is no magic formula for the number of times to post, so when I prepare social media strategies, I consider the overall objective, resources and available content, and prepare recommendations based on each client's specific needs.

Of course, there will be people out there suggesting posting every day for rapid growth - but I know that isn't sustainable for social media management.

It's much better to have fewer, well-optimised and considered posts, than rushing to get content out there without much thought behind it.

Should you post on LinkedIn?

I shared a story last week about my trip to and it’s turned into one of my most successful posts on LinkedIn to date.

So what have I learned?

- People care about what you care about. They can see through self-promotion or obliged company updates.

- Strong imagery works. Illustrating the story and showing who you are really does help.

- Good copywriting is simple writing. I wrote this from the heart and didn’t overthink it.

- You’ll find a community. Instagram isn’t just a place to ‘find your tribe’ - my post led me to a senior leader and vice chair at who said my post ‘made his day’ and to visit again soon for a free cream tea.

My advice - if you’re not already, start posting more freely on LinkedIn.

The opportunities and connections you’ll make are worth it 🫶🏻

This comes up often with clients.

Of course, sales has its place in social media marketing.

But there's a whole lot of brand awareness and nurturing that needs to happen alongside it.

At its core, Instagram is about creating communities. Being aren't signing up to be sold to - they are there to connect with people and, if done well, brands.

Consider other ways to interest your audience:

👉 Inspirational images or videos
👉 Honest storytelling
👉 Relatable memes
👉 Tips and advice
👉 Trending pop culture
👉 Nostalgia

A safe option is to post sales content continually. A clever option to identify other ways to engage your audience. Test and learn and find out what works.

(This is how content creators / influencers succeed. They focus on creating content for their audience!)
