♻️ Got an old sewing machine? A broken strimmer? A drawer full of tangled cables? We want those too!

We don't just collect kettles and toasters, we take all sorts of electricals, including vacuum cleaners, laptops, phones, TVs, hairdryers, fans, garden tools, kitchen gadgets, chargers and cables.

If it has a plug, battery or cable, we can recycle it!

Working items can often be reused by local charities. Everything else is recycled locally in Sittingbourne and valuable materials are recovered.

📍 Visit our Electrical Recycling Stall every Saturday, 10am to 2pm, outside HSBC in Folkestone.

(Bins are available during normal store opening hours.)

Please note: we can't accept fridges, freezers, dehumidifiers or items larger than a wheelie bin.

♻️🌍 Happy International E-waste Day! 🌍♻️

Today is a reminder that those forgotten cables, broken kettles, old laptops and unused gadgets don't belong in the bin.

Thanks to the amazing support of our volunteers and the people of Folkestone we've already recycled over 9 tonnes of electrical items in 2026 and helped give more than 800 items a second life through charity donations. 💚

Every item collected helps prevent valuable materials from being wasted and reduces the environmental impact of electronic waste.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated electrical items, volunteered on the stall, spread the word, or supported the project in any way. You're helping to make a real difference in Folkestone.

🔌 Have a drawer full of old cables and chargers? ⚡ Got an unwanted electrical item collecting dust?

Bring them along to our collection stall every Saturday from 10am to 2pm outside HSBC in Folkestone, or use our pink collection bins at Folkestone Library and Restock on Rendezvous Street. We also have pink bins at County Hardware in Cheriton and Prater Raines in Sandgate.

Together, let's keep valuable resources in circulation and out of landfill. ♻️🔌💚

♻️ International E-Waste Day is coming up on 14 October! ♻️

Ready for a challenge? Take a look in that drawer full of old cables and chargers you've not used for years and give it a clear out! 🔌

Those unwanted cables contain valuable materials such as copper that can be recovered and used again to make new products, such as solar panels and medical equipment. 🌍💚

Drop your old cables and chargers off at our stall outside HSBC in Folkestone every Saturday from 10am to 2pm, or pop them into one of our pink recycling bins during store opening hours at:

A matching set... but are they still making breakfast? 🤔☕🍞

This lovely Russell Hobbs CountryStyle kettle and toaster look like they've served plenty of teas and toast over the years. But when they finally stop working, don't bin them!

Both kettles and toasters can be recycled through Folkestone Electrical Recycling, helping recover valuable materials and keeping electricals out of landfill. ♻️

Got an old kitchen appliance ready to retire? Drop it off and give it a new lease of life through recycling.

Old chargers, mystery leads and electrical bits lurking in cupboards? International E-Waste Day on 14 October is the perfect excuse for a clear-out.

♻️💗 Folkestone, you've done something amazing! 💗♻️

Thanks to the generosity of local residents, over 600 working electrical items have been donated to local charities through Folkestone Electrical Recycling already this year.

🏠 Sunflower House has received more than 100 items, including 27 kettles, 19 toasters, plus microwaves, hair dryers and other essentials to help people set up home.

📱 The Rainbow Centre has received phones, power banks and chargers, helping people experiencing homelessness stay connected with family, friends and support services.

🛍️ More than 450 items have been donated to the Pilgrims Hospice charity shop, including lamps, coffee makers, vacuum cleaners, fans, TVs, radios and music players. These sales help fund the hospice's vital work supporting people with life-limiting conditions.

So a huge thank you, Folkestone! 👏

If you have any unwanted electricals, whether they're working or broken, bring them along to our stall outside HSBC every Saturday from 10am to 2pm.

Folkestone library on Sandgate Road has a shiny pink recycling bin ready for your unwanted small electricals! Available during library opening hours.

Perfect for:
🍞 Toasters, kettles and other small kitchen appliances
🎵 Old radios, phones and laptops
🪢 Tangled wires and chargers

If it has a plug or battery, it can be recycled. Please NO vapes or light bulbs.

Folkestone Electrical Recycling collects everything and recycles it locally in Sittingbourne, recovering valuable materials that can be used again in renewable energy, medical equipment and other essential products.

Or, if you're in town on a Saturday, visit us outside HSBC from 10am to 2pm and drop your items off in person.

💗♻️ The pink electrical recycling bin at Prater Raines has done it again!

Thanks to the wonderful residents of Sandgate, we've collected 27kg of unwanted electricals. 👏

Any working items will be passed on to our local charity partners, while the rest will be recycled in Sittingbourne. Valuable materials like gold, silver and copper can be recovered and used in things like renewable energy technology and medical equipment.

Recycling electricals helps save CO₂ and reduces the need for environmentally damaging mining, so every old cable, charger and gadget really does make a difference.

Well done, Sandgate, and thank you for keeping the pink bin busy! 🌍💚

📍 The pink electrical recycling bin is located outside Prater Raines and is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Anything with a plug or battery can be recycled in the bin. Please no lightbulbs or vapes.

♻️✨ Got a sewing machine gathering dust? Let’s put it back to work.

If your sewing machine hasn’t stitched a thing since 2009, it could be doing something brilliant instead, helping a repair café or teaching people how to mend their clothes.

And if it’s truly beyond saving, don’t worry. Inside every tired old sewing machine are valuable metals that can be recycled and turned into new things.

So bring it down to our stall every Saturday 10am–2pm outside HSBC in Folkestone town centre.

Anything with a plug or battery can be recycled. So round up your irons, toasters, kettles, heaters, laptops, phones, and even that mysterious tangle of cables and wires you’ve been avoiding.

Let’s keep electricals out of landfill and put them to good use in our community.
