🔧 HGV Mechanic Vacancy – Duisky Depot

Bowmans is looking to recruit an HGV Mechanic to join our team at our Duisky depot, approximately 30 minutes from Fort William.

The role will involve:

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing our commercial vehicle and trailer fleet
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Preparing vehicles and trailers for MOT
• Carrying out routine safety inspections
• Responding to vehicle defects and breakdowns
• Maintaining accurate inspection and repair records
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard

Previous experience working with HGVs, trailers or commercial vehicles is preferred. Applicants should be reliable, practical and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

For the right candidate, there will be opportunities to advance their career through further training and qualifications, including becoming a Tachograph Technician and gaining MOT Class 4, 5 and 7 testing qualifications.

Working hours: Mon - Fri 07:00 - 17:00. Occasional weekends

🚛 Part-Time / Casual Class 1 HGV Drivers Wanted 🚛

Bowmans is looking for experienced **Class 1 HGV drivers** to provide holiday cover and additional support during periods of peak operational demand.

The work will be based from Fort William and may include operating:

• Skip loaders
• Hook loaders
• RCVs
• Walking floor trailers
• Flatbed trailers
• Bulk tippers
• Curtain-side trailers

Hours will be offered on a part-time or casual basis, depending on operational requirements.

Applicants should hold:

• A valid Class 1 HGV licence
• A current Driver CPC card
• A valid digital tachograph card
• Suitable HGV driving experience
• A reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach

Experience across all vehicle and trailer types is not essential, as work can be matched to the applicant’s experience.

This position may suit drivers looking for occasional additional work, flexible shifts or semi-retired drivers wishing to continue driving on a casual basis.

Duties include:
✔ Filing paperwork
✔ General office administration
✔ Dealing with customers in person and over the phone
✔ Operating the weighbridge system

Experience with Sage is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.

🕒 Part-time position with the possibility of additional hours becoming available.
