Sunday 13 September marked the final round of the Scottish Downhill Association race series, with Northern Light-sponsored rider Angus Riddle taking on the legendary World Cup track at Nevis Range.

Widely regarded as one of the longest and toughest downhill courses in the world, the track combines relentless speed with steep, technical sections, exposed rock and unforgiving terrain—an exacting test for any rider.

Despite crashes in both his seeding and race runs costing valuable time, Angus recovered to finish a very creditable 33rd out of 55 riders on the day and 39th out of 102 riders in the series overall.

This was Angus’s fifth and final race of his first season—a campaign spanning five weekends from late April to September, with rounds at Innerleithen, Ae Forest and twice at Glencoe before a fitting finale on home ground.

Across the series, Angus has made impressive progress in confidence, racecraft and pace. Completing a full season at this level has demanded real commitment from Angus and his pit crew—his dad, Greg—and has provided a strong foundation for the future.

Everyone at Northern Light is proud to support Angus and congratulates him on a fantastic debut season. We look forward to seeing him build on this experience and return even stronger next year.

Aquaculture UK 2026 – what a few days!!

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the Northern Light Consulting stand, caught up with the team, or took the time to talk through current and upcoming projects. It was fantastic to connect with so many familiar faces and meet new partners across the sector.

The conversations this year really reinforced the pace of change and opportunity across aquaculture - from infrastructure and innovation through to sustainability, collaboration, and long-term growth across Scotland’s coastal communities. We’re proud to play our part in supporting these projects from concept through to delivery.

A special thank you as well to our clients, collaborators, and project partners, your trust and ambition drive everything we do.

And to top it all off – we’re absolutely delighted to have been named Supplier of the Year. A real team effort, and a proud moment for everyone at NLC.

We’re proud to have supported the University of Stirling’s National Aquaculture Technology and Innovation Hub (NATIH), providing specialist input across design, procurement, and delivery of complex RAS systems.

This was a live project with a late-stage supplier change, creating real risk around design coordination and programme delivery.

Our role focused on integrating a new RAS supplier, coordinating complex interfaces, and leading commissioning strategy to ensure system performance at handover.

Through structured coordination and early intervention, we helped de-risk delivery and maintain programme confidence.
