The original Strathearn floor dates back to 2003. In the process of restoring our 180-year old cottage we discovered it was almost impossible to find high quality natural flooring in Scotland. Eventually we tracked down authentic flagstones and beautiful aged oak floorboards in France. We transported our precious cargo back to Perthshire and fitted our first stunning floors. Then, thinking nothing of it, we advertised our spare wood and stone for sale. And from that small beginning the idea for Strathearn began to take shape. In the early days we were literally a cottage industry, doing everything from our beautifully floored home. Today we stock Scotland’s largest selection of natural wood and stone products. Our distinctive floors are at home everywhere from historic castles to private houses and award winning commercial developments. When you visit Strathearn in the lovely heritage village of Forteviot, you’ll find our exciting showrooms a far cry from the humble beginnings but just as welcoming and relaxed. Over and above everything, we are still a family-run business, dedicated to craftsmanship, sourcing unique products and working together with clients to create the most remarkable floors.

Before & After 🤎

Now, we know how special original mosaic flooring is, and it’s always such a shame to cover it up. But sometimes, it just has to be done.

As you can see from the before photo, the mosaics in this hallway had sadly been removed in places, damaged and concreted over, leaving them beyond repair.

Our client also loved the warmth that natural wood brings to a home, so she decided to carry the same flooring from her hallway right through into her kitchen, giving the two spaces a lovely continuous flow.

And we have to say, we love how it’s turned out 😍

We’re delighted to share images of this beautiful countryside home, designed by Studio Heim Interiors and built by Wallace Homes. A carefully considered palette of natural materials, soft tones and tactile finishes creates interiors that feel calm, warm and full of character.

Our Regent Ivory Porcelain, in the 1200x600mm size brings a soft, natural elegance to this bathroom. Its cool ivory tones complement the carefully considered palette, creating a calm and understated backdrop.

Our Florence Bianco Porcelain, in the 1200x600mm size adds a refined sense of brightness and texture. The marbling detail of the tile enhances the clean, contemporary design while maintaining a timeless feel.

The curved shower wall becomes a defining feature of this bathroom, clad in our Piccolo Graphite Matt Porcelain tile. Paired with our Corinth Light Grey Porcelain in a 1200x600mm size, the combination balances depth and texture with the soft elegance of a light grey marble effect surface.

Our Dijon Blanc Engineered Oak flooring in the 220x16mm plank was selected for its light tone, gentle warmth and timeless character.

A classically beautiful floor, it works effortlessly with the home’s Scandinavian-inspired palette, enhancing the sense of light and space while providing a durable, practical surface throughout.
