Samba the Capybara stopped to say hello today!

Whilst in Wi******er mulching a client’s borders with well rotted compost, who should I see but Samba our well travelled Capybara!

Before she got a chance to eat my client’s plants, I directed her towards Marwell Zoo. Hopefully she will make it back safely soon to join Tango.

I volunteered twice this week (Saturday and Wednesday) and helped AVLAN - Alton and Villages Local Action for Nature with an area of ground near the railway bridge on Turk Street in Alton. We cleared, weeded and dug over the ground before laying cardboard (to serve as a barrier to light to hopefully stop new weeds growing), spreading wood chip as a mulch and then planting some hellebores and pulmonaria. Spring and summer bulbs to be planted in the next few days.
