Scam warning!

We’ve received reports of scam text messages claiming a parking penalty has been issued and asking people to follow a link to pay.

We never contact people about parking charge notices by phone or text.

If you receive a message like this, don't get caught out. Do not click any links or share personal or financial details.

FOWEY BANNER SITE

The calendar 📅 and request form are now live on the Chamber website. Banners will be accepted from community organisations and events but not businesses.

• Access the website via the profile on this account or type in https://foweychamber.biz
• from the menu select "Calendars"
• scroll down to the "Co-op banner site availability" calendar
• check if the week(s) you want to book is/are available
• complete the simple form and submit
• you will receive an invoice giving all details and when your payment is received, your booking will be confirmed.

We appear to no longer have any businesses in Fowey currently signed up to .uk.

Any food businesses from bakers to pubs, greengrocers to convenience stores can sign up easily on the app, then list if you have goods left which would otherwise go to waste.
• you get some money back
• someone gets a bargain or food which would be otherwise unaffordable
• nothing goes in the bin

The frame set up outside the new Coop store takes a banner up to 3m x 1m.
chamber.of.commerce will soon be making this bookable with an availability calendar 📅 on the website. Thanks so much to the Coop for agreeing to this ongoing facility for our community.

FLOOD ALERT ⚠️

From the Environment Agency

High tides, strong winds and large waves over the next three days may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible from the morning of Monday 2 February over all high tides to Thursday 5 February inclusive.  Areas particularly at risk include Fore Street, Town Quay, Albert Quay and Caffa Mill Car park at Fowey, Quay Street and Recreation ground at Lostwithiel, Polperro Harbour, Quay Road and The Quay at Looe and the B3247 at Seaton. High tides at Plymouth on Monday are at 05:59 and 18:29, times of high water vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 2.76m. Expect tide levels to be between 0.34 and 0.54 metres above tide table level with waves up to 3m. Force 5-7 SE winds are forecast. Further flood alerts and warnings are likely, with tides peaking on Tuesday and Wednesday.  We are closely monitoring the situation .  Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded .  This message will be updated by 3:00PM on 02 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
