Providing communication support for SUN Pitch Competitions, designing global reports on the impact of on SMEs, and writing and designing 30 eye-catching case studies – WRENmedia has had the privilege of working with the Scaling Up Nutrition Business Network (SBN) , to raise awareness of challenges.

In partnership with Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition and World Food Programme, SBN works collaboratively to end malnutrition, in all its forms. Over the last 2 years, we have enjoyed supporting their efforts, most recently through the creation of a series of case studies to document how SBN members and SBN-led initiatives have been contributing to improved nutrition, and identify lessons learned and share best practices from across the network.

How can researchers make the most of the media to disseminate research & ultimately influence policy?

For the Agricultural Policy Research in Africa (APRA) programme, WRENmedia has been encouraging country research teams to build relationships with the media.

While only a few teams took up this approach, one APRA Tanzania event, held specifically for print, radio and TV journalists, resulted in a staggering 65 media outputs!

A HUGE THANK YOU to WRENmedia for a very generous donation to Project Linus Suffolk. Today I went to The Wool Baa Felixstowe to spend it, THANK YOU also to Debby and Darren who kindly added to the donation. This will enable us to make more Quilts for children so they have a hug they can keep.

In May, we enjoyed continuing our collaboration with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) & Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) programme 🤝

We worked with the teams of the programme to pull out the key messages of their ag development projects 🌱

Based on their key facts & figures, we produced infographics to simplify technical findings into digestible design outputs.

What is the importance of in sharing ?

WRENmedia has just finished working with the Agricultural Policy Research in Africa Programme, during which we led the Impact, Communication and Engagement team.

A key element of our support was in helping 6 teams
produce weekly (sometime bi-weekly) blogs from long, technical reports to reach a diverse audience.

The result?

The 210 blogs received 105,000 views 👀👀 & led to significant downloads of the related research.

So, despite initial reluctance from some researchers, by end of the programme, they all saw the value of blogging 🙌

Some key lessons have also been learnt from the process – which you can find in our latest blog 🙂

Over the course of the Agricultural Policy Research in Africa (APRA) Programme, researchers produced over 150 publications, including Working Papers, Briefs, COVID-19 Papers, Journal Articles and several books.
