Todays Border Telegraph, carbon monoxide poisoning can and does happen make sure you have your alarm in the correct place and make sure its working. All stoves, gas fires, open fires and boilers should have an alarm in the same room as the appliance its for YOUR own safety. Along with regular sweeping and servicing will help prevent any problems. Has your fire/ stove had a sweep recently ? With the recent bad weather I have had loads of calls to check over and clean. Remember southern sweeps is fully insured and registered by the national association of chimney sweeps NACS. All jobs are certificated and there is never any mess. The areas covered by Southern Sweeps are Scottish Borders, Edinburgh, Lothian's and Northumberland.
