So, it felt like January had 147 days this year ….

and it rained for most of them here, but we’ve finally made it to February! 😊

The month kicked off with a sunny day here in Gateshead, yesterday, and even better, it was my birthday, so I’ll take that as a good sign for what’s ahead!!

I had a lovely dog walk, blue skies, two pairs of magpies (which I’m definitely counting as extra luck, especially as I won three games of bingo in the afternoon), and even an early spring flower spotted along the way.

Now it’s back to business, and I’m genuinely excited for what the rest of February holds. There’s lots happening behind the scenes: more MTD IT education and content going out, new resources and offers, an MTD IT interview coming up, some PR help and continued work supporting businesses getting ready for the changes ahead.

Fresh month, fresh energy, and plenty to look forward to.

It’s that time again…

Im spending a few hours at the hairdressers today, and instead of reading magazines or doom scrolling, I’m using the time productively for a change!!

I’m working through emails, mapping out my February work plan, and even getting some of my social media posts drafted and scheduled, as we get ever closer to the first tranche of MTD IT mandation!

Future Me will be so grateful :)

I’m especially motivated today because it’s my birthday on Sunday, and I’m aiming for a proper work-free weekend to celebrate 🎉

A reminder that business planning doesn’t always have to happen at a desk, sometimes the best admin sessions happen in the in-between moments!

Absolutely brilliant
networking session

In Newcastle yesterday at Ascend networking, run by the fab Leyanne Hodgson and Kylie Dixon MBE .

I met some amazing women who not only run a really diverse selection of businesses, but who are also ‘proper canny!’

It’s so refreshing to meet likeminded businesswomen who are genuinely interested in each other, and have each others’ backs!

I came away feeling so enlivened, and with a few great ideas for the future of my business !

Lovely to meet so many fabulous women in the flesh!!

Lovely to have an online meet with

Zoho's Reshma Roy Suvish today, looking at the Zoho Books complianrt software offerings for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, (MTD IT) !

I'm very impressed with functionality and amount of features included in the the free version!

I'm looking forward to finding out more about it soon, and will definitely be including it as one of the software options available in my package for unsupported Sole Traders and Landlords (more landlord functionality is coming in the next few months), along with FreeAgent, Xero, Intuit QuickBooks & various others!!
