By introducing our own wood shredder on site, we were able to reduce our monthly transport to a third party wood recycling facility from 27 journeys to just 3, thus reducing their logistical carbon emissions by almost 89% - a saving of over 10 tons of CO2 every year and with further plans to install renewable energy sources in 2023, Highlander will also be in a position to off-set the additional electrical consumption their wood recycling service utilises.

There are more where this wood skip has come from! April is the month where we're introducing our new wood and pallet shredding service!

We are super proud of what the team has achieved. We are now well on our way to reducing not just our own carbon footprint, but that of our customers, by reducing our logistical emissions from pallet transport to on site chipping and reducing pallet landfill for customers.
