ABOUT THE SHOW:
"Should middle age really stop you from being a raving reprobate?
Still Raving In Your 40’s? is an emotional, euphoric and laugh‑out‑loud spoken‑word and music theatre show that dives headfirst into rave culture, aging, identity and survival on the dancefloor. Through razor‑sharp storytelling, raw honesty and high‑energy delivery, Donald Jenkins takes audiences on a journey from sweaty warehouse raves to the realities of adulthood — without losing the pulse, humour or heart of the underground scene. This is a show for anyone who ever danced until sunrise… and anyone who wonders if they still can."

PRESS & PRAISE:
“Emotional and euphoric, smothered with laugh‑out‑loud comedy.” ~ Newcastle Fringe Festival Review.
"It felt like a masterclass in storytelling. It was like pure nostalgia but the stories you don't often hear." ~ Louise Fazackerley.
"A show very worth seeing. For anyone who's ever felt immersed in a subculture, and the social, physical benefits that it can bring about." ~ Rowan McCabe.

BIO:
Donald Jenkins is performance poet, rapper, writer, educator and creative producer who loves to rant and rhyme. He has performed throughout the UK including Glastonbury Festival and the Royal Albert Hall. His work has featured on ITV and Newcastle City Council's online media. He runs 'Born Lippy', the live event platform that celebrates all things wordy - spoken word, comedy and Hip-Hop.

The debut album from The Dougies, Empty At Embdy's, is out today! Along with the single 'If You Call (I'll Come)': "80s alt-pop meets 00s indie rock - can’t get catchier than this."

"After years of fronting the raucous funk-punk outfit Mickey 9s, Glasgow's Dougie O'Neil turns the clock back with his new project, The Dougies. Empty at Embdy’s? is an ode to teenage chaos and the soundtrack of growing up — a hazy reflection on lost youth, very bad decisions, and nights spent under Cumbernauld underpasses.

Channelling the swagger of The Libertines and The Subways, the heart of The Smiths, and the reckless joy of early Green Day and Blink 182, The Dougies blend sharp humour, bittersweet nostalgia, and hook-heavy guitars into something familiar but fresh - a final hurrah for landfill indie!

The title nods to “empties” in North Lanarkshire — flat parties sans photographic evidence — but also to the quieter sense of emptiness that can follow all that hedonism and heartache. It’s an album about singing from your poor wee soul on a long walk home in the rain. Equal parts rowdy and reflective — laughing at the mad mistakes and missing that reckless abandon — Empty at Embdy’s? is out now on all streaming platforms."

Produced and recorded by James Grant (Sweet Wave Audio).

Dougie: "Huge thanks to James Grant for his studio wizardry and of course to Mark Edward McKeown, Joseph Martyn, Jonathan Ashwood and Mima Merrow for Tuesdays in the studios - what a good vibe."

Kelburn Garden Party 2026 🎟 update...

🚨 TICKET UPDATE 🚨 We are very happy to say that 2026 tickets are still absolutely flying for next year. For the Garden Party we are over 25% up on this point last year which means we are on track to sell out well in advance - currently we’re on Tier 2 at a very decent £190+bf but these are starting to run low. With our new Scottish ticketing partner you are now able to spread the cost of your entire order over 3 or 6 months to suit your monthly budget - so this includes add-ons like kids tickets, car parking, lovely loos + showers etc. Just select this option at the checkout. You don’t need to use Paypal or Klarna etc for this service so that’s a bonus. We also have various group and family ticket deals available.

Earlybird tickets for the 🎷Jazz Weekend end on 1st December - this one is strictly limited capacity and will also sell out.

If you have already booked up you the best!! ❤

Update over - as you were! 🙏
