Caption: From never touching a laptop to confidently prompting AI and managing daily communications, watch how these incredible women transformed their relationship with technology!
Through our hands-on digital skills partnership with the Women’s Integration Network (WIN), participants broke down barriers that once felt overwhelming. They moved step by step from foundational basics (turning on a machine, browsing the web) to essential everyday tasks like attaching documents, using blind copy (BCC) in emails, and using modern AI tools to get quick answers and save time.
Seeing their confidence flourish is the exact reason we do what we do at Won Connect.

Think you can spot an AI scam? Think again. 🕵️‍♂️💻
AI scammers are getting smarter, but a few simple checks can keep you protected online. Here are 5 essential tips to avoid falling into the trap:
1️⃣ Watch for weird language – Look out for overly awkward urgency like "urgent" or "confirm now".
2️⃣ Hover before you click – Check the actual URL destination before clicking any link.
3️⃣ Verify the sender’s address – Make sure the domain matches the genuine organisation.
4️⃣ Check the formatting – Strange typos and broken layouts are instant red flags.
5️⃣ Spot deepfakes – If a profile picture or image looks too perfect, run a reverse image search.

Ever wondered how chatbots actually work? 🤔🤖
They aren’t magic, they rely on Natural Language Processing (NLP) to understand what you mean and reply naturally. But if you want a chatbot that truly helps your business without sounding like a robot from 1995, keep these 3 tips in mind:
1️⃣ Train with real-world data to make responses accurate.
2️⃣ Add personality to keep conversations engaging.
3️⃣ Connect directly to your services so it can take bookings, track orders, and answer FAQs automatically.

🚨 Beware of the "Micro-Charge" Subscription Trap!
Phishing scammers don't always try to steal thousands at once. Often, they set up small recurring fees (like £4.99/month under vague labels like "XYZ Services") betting that you will not notice on your bank statement.
Here are two key habits to keep your money and data safe:
Cross-Check with the Official App or Website: If an email claims there is "unusual activity" on PayPal, your bank, or streaming services, never click the email link. Open the app directly or type the bookmarked address yourself.
Review Bank Statements Regularly: Set a monthly reminder to scan your statements. If you see a recurring charge you do not recognise, contact your bank immediately to dispute it and block future payments.
👥 At Won Connect, we are passionate about making digital literacy and cybersecurity accessible to everyone in our community.

🚨 How Scammers Use Urgency and Generic Emails to Trick You
Ever received an email warning that your account will be shut down in 24 hours unless you click immediately?
Scammers rely on manufactured panic to bypass your rational thinking. Here is how you can outsmart them:
Manually Navigate: Never click the link inside the email. Open your browser and type the service provider's official URL directly.
Check for True Personalisation: Legitimate companies know who you are. Phrases like "Dear Valued Customer" or "Hello User" mean the scammer is broadcasting to thousands of addresses at once.
Don't Fall for Urgency: Genuine organisations give you clear, reasonable timeframes and rarely use threatening language.
👥 At Won Connect, we are dedicated to helping everyone build practical, confident digital skills.
