What are your thoughts around Scotland's bottle deposit scheme and it's hold up?

The scheme was unveiled by the Scottish government as a key part of its recycling strategy, but has still not been introduced.

Unfortunately we have had to suspend our household collection service for the foreseeable future 🙁

From now on we will only be offering our drop-off service - this is a free service and is open 24/7 so you can bring your plastics along whenever suits you! ♻️

Our drop-off point is based outside our factory in Blairlinn Industrial Estate, Cumbernauld - drop us a message if you have any enquiries 📧

Hi everyone,

Just a quick note from the person behind the social media page! 🖥️

Sadly, tomorrow will be my last day at Moock Environmental as unfortunately university has to come first!

I wanted to do a quick post to say a huge thank you to all our customers for all your support on the page and for making my job super easy by being so friendly over the phone and through messages! And of course a huge thank you to all the team at Moock and all the fantastic organisations I've had the pleasure of working with 💚💚

Before I go I'd like to remind you all to keep recycling and keep doing your bit! 😉♻️

♻️ 6 ways to be more sustainable ♻️

♻️ Save energy by turning off standby appliances and washing clothes at a lower temperature

♻️ Avoid single use plastics by investing in reusable products

♻️ Go paperless by asking for electronic copies of things such as receipts and bank statements

♻️ Recycle and reuse materials where possible

♻️ Batch cook and freeze leftovers when possible to reduce food waste

♻️ Drive less - cycle, walk or make use of public transport

We are super excited to announce we are joining up with Birth Baby and Beyond! 👶💜

Birth, Baby and Beyond are a registered charity based in Glasgow with their new early intervention centre just opened in Anniesland!

Birth, Baby and Beyond aim to fight child poverty and support families at times of need through their free baby bundles and packs, which are altered to suit each individual. These packs provide families with essential clean, safe, and usable baby and child items. 🧑‍🍼

Their store sells a variety of children’s essentials from prams to clothes to toys!

Through our partnership, Birth, Baby and Beyond will now be able to pass any waste plastics, metals or WEEE products they receive on to Moock where we will fully recycle them – preventing these materials from ending in landfill! ♻️💚

In turn, good quality, reusable toys donated to Moock Environmental Solutions throughout the toy plastics campaign will be passed on to Birth, Baby and Beyond where these toys can be passed on and played with by another child, whether that be within the centre-run workshops and classes or through donations!🧸

Natasha Earle, the founder of Birth Baby and Beyond has said, “We are thrilled to be working alongside Moock Environmental Services. Our charity receives large volumes of children's toys on a weekly basis that are not complete or are broken leaving us with no option but to take them to the recycling centres who then put the plastics, and many other items, in landfill. This new partnership will prevent thousands of unusable plastic toys from becoming landfill and offer a more sustainable option for the future of plastic toys.” 💜

Our Managing Director, Graeme, can't wait to accept this award as the only company in Scotland to receive our award and meet all the other winners! ♻️
