Services Include:
Coating Inspection
The completed coating system will be examined to determine whether a satisfactory end-product has been achieved. Coating inspection operations include visual appearance, cure assessment, dry film build and examination of defects. Blasting & Painting Supervision
Abrasive equipment will be assessed to ensure that it is suitable for use and fit for purpose. Abra
sives will be checked prior to use and blasting will be monitored to ensure that the correct degree of cleanliness and profile have been achieved. Non-conforming areas will be reworked until a satisfactory result is obtained. When surfaces have been prepared to the correct specified standard application of the coating system will be allowed subject to the ambient weather conditions and surface temperatures being within limits. Correct coating mixing ratios will be observed at all times to ensure the product has been mixed in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendation and guidelines. Coating batch number and dates of manufacture will be recorded to ensure the correct materials are being used at all times. Application equipment will be assessed to ensure that it is suitable for use and fit for purpose. Test panels may be prepared and documented to confirm that a satisfactory result can be obtained with the equipment, coating and personnel. During application wet film thickness readings are taken to confirm that adequate paint is applied to give the specified dry film thickness. Coating Failure Analysis
When coatings fail, the failure can be assessed and attempts made to determine the cause of the problem. Preparation, application procedure, and coating selection are all considered along with environmental conditions at the time of application. Samples of the coating and base substrate will be assessed by a number of techniques to assist the investigation. Material Selection
As coatings have become more complex in recent years the correct selection of coatings and preparation techniques requires a deep knowledge of the industry. By assessing the requirements of the client and expected performance of the system we can assist in the selection of the most suitable coating system. Coating Condition Survey
The coating condition survey determines the condition of a surface and is used to determine the correct maintenance schedule for re-coating and touch-up applications. They are used to assess a wide range of industrial assets including refineries, bridges, water and fuel storage tanks, wastewater plants and many offshore and marine structures.
