is back in MAY! And I'm taking to the stage once again with amazing legendary host to do not one, but TWO latte art live shows across the weekend!

Saturday 16th May - 16:15 - 16:45: The Ultimate Forfeits

Step on the stage and challenge me to a latte art throwdown. Except you get to choose a forefit for me before we pour. Standing on one leg, swapped hands, upside down. Some form of all 3 🤣

Sunday 17th May - 10:00 - 10:30: Will it Latte Art?

Me and will pour the audiences choice of pours into a selection of random objects. A wine glass, A spoon, A ramen bowl? I can't wait to see what objectives are in stock for us to push pouring to it's limits!

Andy killed it at a recent home barista workshop with his family

From having only used the auto milk steam feature to actually steaming manually and pouring half decent latte art on his first attempt was Incredible!

Not only that, but we did some internal but adjustments to his sage smart grinder and dialled in a few coffees which were tasting 👌

The electronic grind size adjustment added to the E80w & E65w GBS grinders is my favourite upgrade on previous models by far.

Two reasons why!

1. Superior dialling in - setting the burr gap using microns allows for extremely accurate changes. You want a half second of difference in your shot time? This can do it! Done are the days of arbitrary scale reference points

2. Easy burr zeroing feature - Set your zero point easily with the calibration mode within the settings. Do away with tools and opening up the grinder just to set your zero point. If done properly with several grinders. You can share recipes easily across my multiple cafes.

Micron burr gap adjustment & easy zero. It's a new core fundamental which would sway me to buy this grinder alone. However, it's not just that. This allows an event cooler feature which we'll cover soon

Jumped on the SCA Water & Preventative Maintenance Foundation course today up in Dundee taught by Mr himself at All to help of solidify my understanding of basic servicing so I can finally have a go with confidence at restoring some of the spare machines we've acquired at .gla

As a side quest we went on a tour throughout the facility and it was pretty eye opening to see what goes on through at a larger scale coffee roastery. Also being commercial means they're generally working outside of the speciality sector. The fully automatic roasting setup was pretty wild to see in action

Ran into which was a nice suprise!

Overall day 1 was brilliant. Lots covered including water and some espresso machine anatomy and basic servicing. Looking forward to more tomorrow!
