The health fallout from the Covid pandemic will have long-lasting effects for many who never even contracted the disease.

This survey of patients showed that 30% of people delayed regular checkups and screenings...and that overall only 36.3% of respondents had NOT delayed any healthcare checks or screenings during the pandemic.

The survey also showed a concerning trend in delaying seeking help for health issues that arose during the pandemic like shortness of breath, chest pain, blood pressure, blood sugar and dizziness.

Thank you Cleveland Clinic for gathering the data on this growing problem - and highlighting the importance of being proactive in our health, especially during the pandemic.

Severe COVID-19 pneumonia and haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis share biological and clinical features, and so the hypothesis that anakinra could be effective in COVID-19 has emerged.

Preliminary data from observational studies suggest the possible efficacy of for mild-to-moderate, severe, or critical COVID-19, but until now no data were available from randomised clinical trials. Therefore, the efficacy and safety of anakinra has been evaluated in patients in hospital with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 pneumonia in a randomised controlled trial setting.
