A great Friday night at Kingsholm! 🏉
We had a brilliant evening welcoming guests to Gloucester Rugby vs Bath Rugby for Lewis Ludlow’s testimonial match, supporting the fantastic work of
And what a result, with Gloucester winning 23–5! 🍒⚪

It was a real demonstration of what a team can achieve when everyone plays their part. Gloucester came under sustained pressure from Bath but remained resilient, defended collectively and took their opportunities when they came.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such an enjoyable evening. Great company, great rugby and plenty to talk about afterwards!

We asked alumni to describe their business before LEAD™ and now. Before, 18% answered an outright 'yes' that their senior team was effective. Now 64% do.

High employee engagement moved from 18% to 58%. Alumni put a lot of this down to shared language. When several people in one senior team have done LEAD™, they understand each other the first time.

How many leadership course notebooks are sitting in desk drawers right now? Most of us have one, full of ideas we never got round to using once we were back in the business.

A 2024 research review found that very few people apply what they learn on leadership courses, and most slip back into old habits. It’s even harder in a small business, where the person on the course is usually the boss. Nobody lightens their load while they try something new and nobody asks a month later how they're getting on with it.

Here we look at what helps the learning last. As a LEAD™ coach, I see the difference it makes when someone asks what you’re going to do next and then checks that you did it.

It is always great to welcome back Chris Butterworth to the GAIN™ programme with his insights into ‘The Essence of Excellence’ and its focus on Continuous Improvement.

Chris shared with Abby Guilding, Charles Taylor, Gareth Edwards and James Markey a 4-step model to excellence and a series of practical examples of what to do. Throughout there was much discussion on what was happening in each person’s business and how the tools and frameworks could be used.
