Great to meet with Gloucestershire County Council to kickstart a project set to transform a corner of Gloucester into a nature inspired Pocket Park for the local community. This Pocket Park aims to uplift a neglected spot while focusing on how to transform it in a way that is beneficial to the local residents, becoming a third space where locals can catch up, have picnics, and enjoy the area to its fullest. As a Gloucester based company, it is always fantastic to be able to support local initiatives such as this!

It was fantastic to attend last week the Future Spaces 10 Years of Innovation event celebrating a decade of innovation here in the South West and showcasing the impact created when research, innovation, skills and enterprise are fully connected. It was especially good to see some of our clients at the event as well as make some new connections for future collaboration.

It was great to visit local Gloucester based manufacturer Plunkett Associates and have a tour of their facility, see their manufacturing capabilities in action, and talk all things design and manufacture. It is always good to connect with manufacturers, especially when they are only down the road from our UK design studio!

It was great to attend the Meet the Funders: Cleantech networking and pannel discussion event this morning with British Business Bank, Bristol Innovations, Innovate UK and many more funders, hosted by the Engine Shed.
There were some great insights from the pannel and had discussions with lots of interesting innovative product business and and startups. The South West is going through an exciting time in the CleanTech sector and we are enjoying working with our clients to develop their products that are not only brilliant ideas but are making a difference.

Phoenix Consultants x Greeper Laces - Another fantastic batch manufacture client needing short production runs and fast turnaround.

Greepers are the award-winning, patented no-tie shoelaces that once fitted, the laces form a ready-made bow that can be easily loosened or tightened in seconds using toggles, ensuring they never come undone.

Using additive manufacturing technology, there was no upfront tooling investment and reserves the ability to adjust the design during production runs as well to swap materials and colours.

This involved evaluating CAD, simulating parts to optimise production, and then 3d printing in recycled PETg ready for end use.
