Some jobs are a little more special than others, and again, are we massively privileged to be asked to undertake them .
The room is being renovated , it has areas where Pews once were , an Altar and stone walkways in between . Once the old carpet tiles were lifted , the original floor was uncovered . It was going to be re-carpeted , but the decision was made to try and restore it as best as possible and leave it on show . Sadly in the past , a couple of strips had been dug up and concreted . Using our Ibix system we were able to gently remove the levelling compound, carpet adhesive and 100’s of years of dirt. The stone work is now going to have a few repairs where needed .

This brick chimney /base was getting damp , due to the wrong paint being used . Old lead based , cement based paint or Limewash would allow the brickwork /mortar to breathe . Incorrect use of modern paints does not allow moisture to escape , causing damp and brick failure . Using both paint softener and steam we removed the top layers of modern paints. Steam will not remove the older paints and media must be used if you are to remove that also . The chimney is due to be repaired and then repainted with breathable paint , so we did not need to remove the older paint. Also the lime based render at the base had been incorrectly painted . We removed the paint , and again will be repainted with suitable paint . Ideally it would not have been painted originally when rendered with the lime mix .

This is a Grade 1 listed Norman arch dating back to 1100.
This graffiti was sprayed on back in November 2025. It has taken from then until now working with the local Council and Conservation officer , to get approval for methods used . Using our Doff 3 we were able to remove the tags . The building has also just received a beautiful new stone roof and other repairs, to ensure to remains standing for many 100’s of years to come .
We are privileged to be asked to undertake this work .
