Screened Woodchip vs Fines
Thought it would help to have a comparison of the two main materials separated when we screen our chipped material with a £2 coin for scale.
The unprocessed woodchip is primarily G30 or G50 grade but there is a percentage of finer material that is created and a small amount of oversized that also inevitably doesn't get chipped as small as we'd like.
That is why the screener is perfect for the job as it screens the three different sizes and produces Screened Woodchip, Fines and Oversized.
The Screened Woodchip is then high quality biomass, ideal for more sensitive boilers and systems or confirms with playground standards for surface protection (if being used for a playground, always ensure to research correct depth of material required and order accordingly).
The Fines are ideal to make into garden mulch or to be used on borders for w**d control or to add an aesthetic look to planters and pots.
The Oversized meanwhile are great for kindling. Larger peices ready for BBQ starting or to store ready for next winter. As we have a more limited quantity of Oversized these are only sold in barrow bags at this moment in time.
We always have a certain volume of hardwood woodchip in stock, all produced from material from our forestry sites. For larger projects we are able to chip the raw material to the customer's requirements and then screen accordingly to produce the highest quality of material.
