Hawco has become the latest corporate member accepted into the British Refrigeration Association (BRA). As a member, we look forward to collaborating with manufacturers, contractors and other distributors on ways we can improve our industry.

We will contribute regularly to three BRA groups, spanning commercial refrigeration cabinets, contracting and equipment and components.

Adam Harrison MInstR, our technical applications manager, first attended a BRA meeting 15 years’ ago when he worked for a refrigerated cabinet manufacturer. In his current role at Hawco, he works closely with a number of OEM designers. Adam will use this perspective to share the views and concerns of manufacturers with the BRA community.

He will also feedback to our OEM customers on any regulatory changes, allowing them to better prepare their response to future industry developments.

Adam says, “Each BRA meeting is an open forum. It is a place where we can discuss how our sector can be better. There is a lot of knowledge around the table and everyone is focused on the same aim.”

He continues, ”At the moment, it has been valuable to understand the potential impact of changes to F-Gas regulation. There is also the move towards greater energy efficiency, energy labelling and compliance with eco-design regulations. These issues are of interest to our OEM customers – and as a distributor, Hawco can add its unique point of view to these important discussions as well.”

The BRA is part of the Federation of Environmental Trade Associations (FETA).

We supplied four single-split Haier units for an installation in the offices of a much-loved organic wholesale business in Shoreham-by-Sea.

This included a 10.5kW cassette with colour wired remote controller - plus three wall mounts (2.5, 3.5 and 6.8kW) chosen for their meeting room, IT room and staff breakout rooms.

Mini aqua condensate pumps were concealed within the wall mount units with a Max Hi Flow tank pump from Aspen Pumps Group doing the work for the cassette unit.

Brackets, copper from Lawton Copper Tubes and Kaiflex insulation completed the order at a decent price.
