- Software Engineer
The Software Engineer will work within the Systems and Software team in the Programmes area of STS Defence, developing and maintaining software throughout the Software Development Lifecycle from requirements elicitation, through to in service delivery. The post will provide hands on software development on projects for key stakeholders undertaken by the company.

! We are delighted to announce that our third-year apprentice, Alisha, has been shortlisted for the Engineering/Manufacturing Apprentice category in the National World Portsmouth & Chichester Apprenticeship Awards 2026.

Alisha has demonstrated exceptional commitment, adaptability and professional growth throughout her apprenticeship so far. She has developed into a trusted and valued contributor across multiple business functions, consistently exceeding expectations through her technical ability, positive attitude and willingness to support the wider business.

Today we hosted our Bake Off in support of Macmillan Cancer Support, and just look at all the incredible goodies that were donated!

From moreish chocolate brownies to luscious lemon drizzles, there was something for everyone. Our judges declared a sumptuous salted caramel fudge cake the winner, with a delicious carrot cake taking the runner-up spot.

A huge well done and thank you to everyone who got involved, baked, donated and supported us so far 💚.

We were welcomed back to Bridgemary School today to deliver a Year 10 assembly ahead of National Manufacturing Day, which takes place on the 24th of September.

It was a fantastic opportunity to introduce students to the exciting opportunities available within the manufacturing and defence sectors, while showcasing STS Defence’s strong position as an employer in Gosport and the many pathways our early careers opportunities can offer.
