1️⃣ Experienced HGV Grab Driver
We’re looking for an experienced HGV Grab Driver with strong experience in utilities work.
Requirements:
* CSCS card – essential
* Proven experience operating a Grab lorry
* Reliable, hardworking, and safety-focused

2️⃣ HGV Driver (Training Opportunity Available)
We also have a position for a HGV Driver who is keen to expand their qualifications and learn the Grab.
Requirements:
* CSCS card – essential
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn

JOB OPPORTUNITY - SECOND MAN

Taggart grab hire are looking for a second man to start immediately. Working as part of a two man team you will be working alongside a highly experienced driver carrying out backfilling works for our client.

We are looking for someone experienced in this kind of work who can work safely and to a very high standard on a daily basis. Duties include the spreading and ramming of materials used to backfill open excavations.

The grab leaves our yard at Denny and returns to there every day after the shift so must be able to make your own way to the yard.

MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A D&A TEST

CSCS card or EUSR labourer card required.

Wages will be dependent on experience with plenty of overtime and weekend work available.

Here’s a bit about us. We are a family run grab hire business in the central Scotland area who specialise in the supply of wagon and driver hire for your utility projects. We come equipped with all relevant insurances, plant and operatives who are highly experienced and trained to the highest of standards. All operatives tickets & training are kept on file and upto date.

We currently have two grabs operating on the road and have secured ongoing contracts with our existing clients. We are always looking to broaden our network and supply within the utilities industry. We offer competitive rates and can accommodate the clients needs to suit.

WE ARE RECRUITING

Due to continued growth & expansion we are currently looking to recruit an experienced driver/ labourer for utilities work in the central Scotland area. This work is on the Scottish power framework so an induction will be required. At the induction a drug test is mandatory. If you can’t pass a drug test please DO NOT apply.

This is a great opportunity for a HGV class 2 driver to come on board and learn the trade. I am open to training someone up who is keen and looking to learn something new. Or even an experienced second man with a utilities background looking to become a grab driver.

This work is manual graft assisting the grab with backfilling requirements. Yard is in Denny so must be able to make your own way there in the morning. Below is a list of requirements we are looking for.

UTR number - essential
Driving license - essential
CSCS or EUSR card - essential
HGV class 2 driver - desirable
Streetworks ticket - desirable
Hiab ticket - desirable

Must know how to hold a shovel, use a brush, operate a trench rammer and heavy duty forward & reverse whacker plate also be familiar with backfilling depths/ requirements on the footway and carriageway. TOP RATES PAID FOR THE RIGHT PERSON. Weekends and late nights (OVERTIME) are available every week and we ask for someone who offers flexibility to meet the needs of our client.

This is a self employed position so must hold a UTR number. We DO NOT offer holidays or have any positions available through the books.

Putting this out there. Going to be selling my van or trading it in (undecided) in the coming weeks. Is this of any interest to anyone out there ? Only reason for sale is I’m needing something bigger. The wee van drives a dream and has never missed a shift.

It comes with the following.

Full years MOT (tested 02.10.24)
At MOT drive shaft was repaired and front and back discs and pads were replaced. Also serviced with oil change and new filters. Full service history for the van is available and has been done yearly.

Citroen Berlingo EN-PRISE BLU 68 plate panel van in white. Has done 90500 miles but is still in daily use. More photos can be sent on request.
