We were delighted to celebrate Scottish Modern Apprenticeship Week — a great opportunity to recognise the contribution apprentices have made to our business and to our industry.
Through the week, our team visited Graeme, Falkirk and St Mungo’s High Schools to meet pupils and their teachers, highlighting the opportunities a Modern Apprenticeship can offer — from hands on learning and skills development to laying the foundations for a long and rewarding career in a STEM/ Manufacturing related business. Thank you to our volunteers for sharing their experiences and to the staff and pupils for their keen interest.

Yesterday we announced a major £150 million investment to underpin the long-term future of our Grangemouth site in Scotland, one of the UK’s most important industrial assets and a critical hub for the nation’s manufacturing and energy sectors.
Supported by the UK Government, and facilitated by Natwest, the investment will upgrade key production units, improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and enhance the site’s competitiveness.

We are proud to announce Jamie as our Modern Apprentice of the Year 2025
A former pupil of Larbert High School, Jamie was nominated by his supervisors and mentors for his professional attitude, personal drive, and passion for learning.
This award is extra special as it commemorates George Hall, a much-loved colleague who dedicated nearly four decades to our site. George’s family generously donated this award in his memory to celebrate apprentices who truly excel.
The award was presented in the presence of George’s widow, Jane, and son, Chris. Jane said: "George strongly believed in the value of apprenticeships, and I know he would have been so proud to see Jamie’s hard work recognised."
Jamie said: "I’m extremely proud to receive this award. The apprenticeship programme has given me the chance to learn from the best in the industry. I’m excited to keep building my skills and contribute to the success of the team as I work towards qualifying as a mechanical technician."

As a member company of the Grangemouth MICC, we are sharing the following information on their behalf:

The Grangemouth Major Incident Control Committee (MICC) will carry out its scheduled twice-yearly test of the Community Warning System at 2:30pm on Wednesday 3 December.
Warning masts across Grangemouth will broadcast tones and verbal instructions to check the system is fully operational. This is only a test—no action is required.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Apprentices at Forth Valley College - Five of our current Modern Apprentices were on hand to meet local school pupils during the college’s recent open day.

Sharing their experiences, they provided a real insight into the value of a vocational training course and explained how a Modern Apprenticeship can be a fantastic pathway to a rewarding career.
