Road Safety Week 2020 is co-ordinated by the charity Brake. This year it is running from the 16th to the 22nd November, and is focusing on the what, the who and the where of speed, because whether you are walking to school, riding on a country road or driving for work, the speed of traffic matters to your safety. Somebody is injured on a UK road every four minutes, and vehicle speed playing a part in every crash, it is time to come together to say there is NO NEED TO SPEED.

ACE will be raising awareness of RSW 2020 through our monthly newsletter and social media. As well as our ISO45001 certification, ACE are working hard to achieve FORS (Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme) Bronze certification. The safe and efficient operation of our vehicle fleet is one of our priorities and ACE aim to continually improve the safety culture and behaviours of our company drivers as well through ongoing training and education.

Though the world was gripped in a pandemic, our Health and Safety Team at Asbestos Consultants Europe Ltd were still working hard to improve their Health and Safety Management System standards. Following a remote audit in April followed by a site visit to their Bristol Office in September they have achieved their ISO45001 accreditation.
Well Done to everyone involved!

ACE (Asbestos Consultants Europe Ltd) operates from 4 regional offices, providing asbestos consultancy, training, UKAS Accredited surveying, sampling and air fibre monitoring services throughout the UK…but I bet their Bristol office was the only one with a smiley face over it!

ACE have been operational throughout the Covid 19 pandemic, with our field staff supporting all our clients wherever and whenever they have needed us.
Indeed during this time, they have successfully transitioned to ISO17025: 2017 and have now followed that up with another milestone by being subject to remote auditing by UKAS for both the ISO17025 and ISO17020 standards. These standards cover their accredited Asbestos Surveying, Testing and Air Monitoring activities. The site review elements of the audit have been postponed until UKAS are able to attend our COVID-19 Secure facilities and visit us on our client sites.

Congratulations to all the staff for their hard work during these unprecedented times!
