GB-NI goods movements, compliance is key: October is the awkward month.

Anything that arrived before 20 October is on the old TSS. Anything from 20 October is on the new one. The SDs for both are due on Tuesday 10 November.

Start with your own list of October loads and tick each one off against both platforms.

When did you last check every SD on the old TSS?

It closes on Monday 30 November. Before then, open every supplementary declaration and look at the status. If it says Draft, Input Required, Pending Payment, Tax Calculation Verification or Fiscal Hold, it’s still open. Completed doesn’t count either. An SD is only finished when it shows Closed.

Since the Assisted Completion Service shut on 15 September, nobody at the TSS will finish an open one for you. The TSS is free. The liability for an open SD stays with your business.

We go through every SD, find the ones still open and get them to Closed.

From today, your loads to Northern Ireland go through a system you've never used.

The new TSS went live this morning, and every movement between Great Britain and Northern Ireland now goes through it. The old TSS takes no new movements, and it closes for good on Monday 30 November.

Two jobs for this week. Get your first movement through on the new TSS without errors. Then start closing out every SD still open on the old one.

A load arriving in Northern Ireland on Tuesday can't go on the old TSS.

From 20 October, the old TSS takes no new movements. Anything arriving on or after that date goes on the new one.

So today, look at every load due to arrive from Tuesday. Check it's set up on the new TSS, under the right login, with your agent linked.

Anything already on the old TSS still needs closing before Monday 30 November.
