It is fantastic to see that AFC Bournemouth have won planning approval for its £85m Vitality Stadium expansion project, perfect timing for the club’s first-ever European campaign.

The expansion plan will see the stadium's capacity increase from approximately 11,300 seats to over 20,000 seats, whilst simultaneously refurbishing the hospitality suites in the West and East stands.

Tenos has ongoing involvement on the Stadium expansion project, providing fire engineering support to AFCB and Stadium Structures on the expansion to the North, South and East stands as well as the refurbishment of the West Stand Lounges.

We have developed fire strategies for each stand, drawing on our extensive experience on stadia to overcome design challenges and to ensure that all attending Cherries and away fans are safe from the effects of fire

Our Kelly is fundraising for Alzheimer's!

Kelly will be taking part in the Alzheimer's Society Trek26 Lake District event in July, raising money for the charity to continue to provide help and hope to people affected by dementia. She will be trekking 26 miles along the Ullswater Way path, through the picturesque Lake District and would love all the support she can get for a cause that's so close to her heart.

Should you wish to donate to Kelly's charitable cause, please use the following link:

We'd like to introduce our newest starter to the Tenos team - Neil Heffernan.
Neil is joining us as a testing specialist, having worked in the fire protection industry for over 20 years. He brings a breadth of experience; from the laboratory floor to providing UKAS accreditation and heading up the Testing Division of Polyseam.
We're thrilled to bring him on board and for him to utilise his extensive knowledge across all our engineering streams.
Please join us in warmly welcoming Neil!

This week is National Mental Health Awareness Week, organised by the Mental Health Foundation, and this year's theme is 'ACTION'.

According to the Mental Health Foundation, "around 1 in 5 adults in the UK have a common mental health condition, and poor mental health is one of the biggest drivers of workplace absence".

At Tenos, we ACTION good mental health and wellbeing through many positive initiatives: our robust mentoring scheme; employee benefits such as the Employee Assistance Programme supporting wellbeing, and private health insurance through Vitality (including mental health support); encouraging open conversations amongst all our staff members,; support and development; considerate distribution of work, weekly "1-1s" with line management, and much more. We understand that positive mental health practices lead to happy and productive staff, so we are proud to champion Mental Health Awareness Week!

For more tips or advice, please check out the free resources available on the Mental Health Foundation's website: https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/

Tenos is committed to the growth and development of our staff. As a testament to this commitment, Tenos recently encouraged two of its members, Ioannis Fotiou & Phillip Watson, to undertake post-graduate studies.

Last September, both Ioannis and Phil enrolled on University of Lancashire's MSc in Fire Safety Engineering as part-time students, a program that challenges, develops and fosters individual growth and competence. Recent addition to our Glasgow office, Sean Malone, has also enrolled on the same course. The knowledge and skills these three have gained are already being transferred for application to their ongoing projects, and we are looking forward to seeing how these attributes will be blended into their respective teams to support growth of early career peers and drive technical competence across their future services.

We wish Ioannis, Sean and Phil all the success on their post-graduate journey!

It's great to see that the £65M redevelopment works for The Lynfield Mount Hospital New Build and Refurbishment project has received FBC approval.

The Lynfield Mount Hospital redevelopment will transform the facility into a modern, therapeutic mental health facility that better supports service users, staff, and the wider Bradford community.

Tenos has developed the fire strategy through RIBA Stage 3 & 4 design for the New Ward Block, and the refurbishment of the Central Building and two existing wards. We have used our extensive experience of mental health units and close consultation with key stakeholders to address the unique fire safety design challenges which are often presented by these facilities.
