After more than 100 years of trading, we have made the difficult decision to close our Auction Centre.
This has not been an easy decision. Rising operating costs, changing buyer behaviour and the continued growth of alternative online platforms mean that, as a stand-alone business within our wider group, it is no longer commercially sustainable to operate the Auction Centre in the way we believe it should be run.
Our auction heritage spans more than a century, dating back to the days when sales were held on the docks for returning fishermen. Over the years, generations of families have bought and sold through our saleroom. We have been privileged to handle remarkable collections, significant estates and countless treasured items - each with its own story.
We are immensely proud of this history and the role the Auction Centre has played within the community.
Most importantly, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of our clients, buyers and supporters who have placed their trust in us over the decades. Your loyalty and support have meant a great deal.
We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to our auction team, past and present, whose knowledge, professionalism and dedication have upheld the standards and reputation of the business for so many years.
While this chapter is coming to a close, our wider group services will continue to operate as normal.
Thank you for being part of our story, and don’t forget to join us for our last auction on 27th March.
