Meet our September Lounge Resident: Thirteen Financial Services
This month, we’re delighted to welcome Thirteen Financial Services to the Business Hive Lounge.
Led by Larrisa, Thirteen Financial Services is an independent commercial finance brokerage helping owner-managed businesses access funding that supports growth, without unnecessarily draining cashflow.
Larrisa specialises in asset finance and business funding, particularly for businesses in engineering, manufacturing and construction, while also supporting ambitious SMEs where the funding requirement is the right fit.
But what does that actually look like in practice?
Here’s a great example from one of Larrisa’s clients
“A client first came to Larrisa in 2022 as a new-start business, with one vehicle held personally and rented to a taxi driver while still working full-time.
Over the following years, finance and asset sourcing were used strategically to grow the fleet in a controlled way.
Vehicles were sourced through both retail and trade channels, often reducing the purchase price by around £2,000 per vehicle. Lower acquisition costs helped keep monthly finance commitments down while maintaining commercially viable rental income.
Once the fleet reached around 15 vehicles, the next stage of growth was reviewed rather than simply repeating the same approach.
The client then moved towards VAT registration and VAT-qualifying vehicles, allowing the funding structure to support newer and more expensive vehicles without the same level of upfront cash requirement.
By July 2026, the fleet had grown to 52 vehicles, through steady, consistent expansion and ongoing profit rather than rapid, unsustainable growth.”
