Congratulations to Bria on her four (although technically five!) year anniversary with Bespoke HR.

Bria originally joined us back in 2019 during her placement year, before finishing her MSc in Management (International Management) and coming back to work with us full time in 2021.

From Placement Student to HR & Operations Assistant to Junior HR Consultant and now HR Consultant, her career progression showcases her incredible talent and dedication.

Her biggest piece of HR advice. 'Be consistent with everyone, it makes your case stronger as employees have less room to say they have been unfavourably treated if everyone is being held to the same standard.'

As we enter Volunteers Week, we wanted to highlight our partnership with Guildford Action.

They provide a safe, non-judgemental refuge for people who’ve fallen through the net, or out of everyday society, and we're delighted to be able to give back and support them.

Over the last 12 months, each of our team members has been allocated a set number of hours per year, paid by Bespoke HR, to volunteer their time.

From gardening and making or serving food, to attending fundraising events and supporting with skills based volunteering, it has been up to individual team members as to how they want to spend their time.

Having only launched last year, we are receiving such great feedback from our team and are proud to be giving back to a local charity.

If you're looking for ways to support your local community, we would highly recommend a VTO (Voluntary Time Off) policy.

Recognising long service in the workplace.

At our most recent quarterly meeting, we celebrated our finance manager, Clair for long service to the business. This year marks 5 years since Clair joined Bespoke HR.

Clair joined us back in 2020 with a broad range of experience covering accounting, financial management and processes, across different sectors of industry. With her ACCA qualification and extensive experience, Clair quickly became, and is, an essential part of our finance team.

Last week we celebrated Siân on her long service with Bespoke HR, this week we are celebrating Siân as our Mental Health First Aider. Officially certified by Mental Health First Aid England

One year ago today, Emma joined the Bespoke HR team, bringing eight years of valuable HR experience from the education and charity sectors.

When she's not expertly handling HR challenges for our clients, you'll find her in the kitchen baking cupcakes with her daughter.

Emma loves the variety in her role: 'I love the variety involved in HR, whether it’s the different HR issues that you’re dealing with or the different industries that clients work in. It’s really refreshing and challenging to not know what the next day will bring.'

And her top piece of HR advice.

'Don’t wait to deal with things. As tempting as it may be to hold off on dealing with difficult things, it’s key to confront issues quickly to try and stop them escalating unnecessarily.'

It's safe to say Ishka is one very happy doggy, and we're sure all of the other pups will approve, if they get a look-in.

To recognise the long standing, talented team at Bespoke HR. Alison & Ian set up the Five Year Club.

As the clue in the title suggests, it is for team members who have been with Bespoke HR for five years or more.

Last week, they hosted a celebratory meal at The Ivy in Guildford for the team.

Our people are our greatest asset, so the Five Year Club is a small way of saying thank you.

It's always exciting to share our team's growth, and recently our HR consultant, Bria, has been taking on her Level 5, CIPD qualification.

The latest session covered everything from organisational structures to trends and wellbeing, with practical examples to help bring the theory to life.

We asked Bria what she has been enjoying so far.

"The chance to connect with other HR professionals in breakout rooms, sharing real experiences and discussing practical scenarios together. As the course is fully remote, it was a good opportunity to meet other people, share ideas and experiences and be able to have a Q&A session on the assignment."
