And that’s a wrap on Summer 2026. ☀️

It’s nearly time for our children head back to school, and we’ve found ourselves looking back on a summer full of family time, adventures and moments that reminded us why we do what we do.

Running a business never really stops, but this summer we made each other a promise.

To properly switch off.
To cover for one another.
To be present with our families.

Did it always work?

No.

There were work calls we couldn’t avoid, plans that changed, and probably a bit more TV than we’d usually like.

But overall, we gave ourselves permission to be a little less available for work and a lot more available for the people waiting for us at home.
Because we’ve learnt something over the last few years…

Rest isn’t time away from your business.
It’s part of building one.

Now we’re back, recharged and genuinely excited for everything we’ve got planned between now and Christmas.

We can’t wait to welcome you into the room.

Mid-Summer check-in… How’s yours going?

So far, ours has included beach days, family time, wine with friends and some genuinely lovely moments.

It’s also included a root canal, endlessly cleaning muddy Crocs and approximately 4,782 requests for snacks.

Because summer is never just one thing.

It’s a little bit lovely, a little bit chaotic and, for us, apparently mostly about feeding people.

But as our community has grown, we’ve realised something.

👋 Hi, we’re Jo & Lauren - the co-founders of Women’s Work Social.

Five years ago, we created the community we needed ourselves.

We were two business owners navigating the juggle of family life, flexible working and building businesses from scratch - with no rulebook and no colleagues down the hall to bounce ideas off.

After the pandemic, we were craving real, face-to-face connection.

But not traditional networking.
No hard sell.
No pressure to pitch.
No awkwardly working the room.

We wanted good conversations, genuine support and the chance to build meaningful relationships with other women who understood what running a business really looked like.

So, Women’s Work Social began.

It started with a handful of like-minded women in a room.

Five years later, it has grown into a female founder community with a reputation for rooms that women travel for, connections that become collaborations and friendships, and experiences that create real momentum in business.

And Women's Work Social has evolved.

Today, there are three ways to be part of the Women’s Work Social world:

You’ve seen the invite.

This is what it actually feels like.

It’s not one of those events where you have to be “on”
or work the room
or leave wondering why you bothered.
