💡 Thought I’d hop on this trend and bring you your very own pocket-sized Admin Organiser! 🙌

I’ll admit, I’m not the biggest user of AI (creating an image is a first for me!), but I love the power of technology. That said, I’ll always have a soft spot for the old-school ways: notebooks, spreadsheets, and keeping things simple. 📓💻

Seeing some of these creations has me thinking... wouldn’t it be amazing to have one of these on your desk?

☀️ Loving the sunshine lately, although I can’t quite believe we’re already halfway through April!

With the start of a new tax year and the end of my maternity leave from my employed role, the last couple of months have been full-on.

Here’s a little look at what March included:
✅ Creating and scheduling weekly newsletters for a client
✅ Inputting monthly data from Excel into a client’s CRM
✅ Completing 10 KIT (Keeping in Touch) days at my other job
✅ Creating new accounting spreadsheets for a limited company, and entering all backdated accounts (invoices, receipts, travel expenses, and bank transactions) from November onwards

April is shaping up to be just as busy—both professionally and personally. Between Easter holidays, my son’s first birthday 🎉, and the anniversary of my dad’s passing, it’s a month full of emotion and reflection.

When life gets full, it's prioritisation, preparation, and organisation that keep me going.

Admittedly, working on my business has taken a bit of a backseat this year—but I’m ready to jump back in, wrap up some long-standing background tasks, and start sharing more helpful tips with you again.

Let’s power through the rest of April—normality is just around the corner 💪

Taking a moment this week to look back at past projects and the workplaces I've helped streamline across the years 🥰

My favourites are those where the simplest of solutions have had the biggest impact 🔥

🏥 Problem: Doctors surgery struggling to store and find patient paper notes.
➡️ Solution: All file wallets re-filed to make use of all room available and patient names written on the end.
💚 Feedback: It's so easy to find notes now without having to pull each one out to check the name. Can't believe no-one did it sooner!

📦 Problem: Engineering company with 30+ years of design and order paperwork dumped in their archive office.
➡️ Solution: Each cupboard reviewed and file locations logged to create a literal map of the archive.
💚Feedback: That's so much better being able to just go over and get a file without having to spend hours looking through boxes!

🛩 Problem: UK Airport who, due to an increase in temporary staff during covid and lack of information management, had a lot of unfindable and/or duplicated project files.
➡️ Solution: A standardised site and folder structure was implemented for each project, with all files for the current funding period being reviewed and moved into the new areas.
💚 Feedback: It will take some getting used to but I can really see the benefits. The transition has been seamless and I'm looking forward to using the new spaces.

"I don't envy you that" and "Rather you than me" were heard quite a lot on this last one too! 😂

Having worked in and with both small family business and global corporate companies, I can tell you that when it comes to admin, it's the same rules!
1️⃣ Admin is essential to all businesses
2️⃣ Workplaces don't function well without organisation
3️⃣ The longer it's left, the bigger the problem gets!

The only difference... the bigger the company, the more widespread the problem, the longer it takes to fix! 🫣

If there's admin in your business that isn't working too well, or a disorganised filing system that "you'll get round to sorting one day", then get in contact! 📲

Ever notice how that one little task you keep putting off suddenly feels like climbing Mount Everest? 🏔️ The longer you leave it, the bigger it seems. 😩

It’s not because the task changed—it’s because procrastination loves to magnify things in our minds. What might take 10 minutes to do feels like it’ll take 10 hours when you keep delaying it.

✨ Here's the secret: Action shrinks the fear and mental load! 🧠

Start small. File that email, send that invoice, tidy just one corner of your desk. Once you begin, you’ll realize it wasn’t as daunting as you thought!

This has to be one of my favourite quotes for my business ❤️

It is often perceived that being organised is about having matching stationary, colour co-ordinating folders and a neatly printed label on everything, but those things are really only for the benefit of social media!

🚨 Organisation can only come from you!
Not your notepad or a magic app your being advertised. It's about discipline.

📝 To-do lists only work if you keep to it and tick those tasks off
⏳ Time blocking only works if you stick to it
🧹 Tidy desks only stay tidy if you put things back in their place after use
📈 and efficiency is only possible without procrastination

🗂 Organise!
Whether it's your desk, desktop, inbox or office in general, working in a clean and tidy space will always improve your mindset and focus.

🤖 Automate!
Repeating tasks manually will not only decrease your productivity, but let's face it, as a business owner there are much better uses of your time! Automating tasks does not mean installing a fancy piece of kit or software either, you can duplicate entries on spreadsheets or use shortcuts across other platforms.
Batch actioning or outsourcing are also great ways to reduce repetitiveness and increase your own productivity.

With the end of the year approaching, it's time to reflect on the past 12 months and set our goals for the next 12! 🎯

I'll openly admit that my long list of 2024 to-do's has been started but been completed.

Life is busy and I was very optimistic of the amount on my 2024 list, Therefore my 2025 goal is simply to complete my list! 🤩

For me, some of these are;
💻 Finish my new website
🗂 Move my business files across servers
📦 Archive my old business documents

As you prepare to finish for the year, take some time to reflect on those things you have managed to get done and those which are still on the back burner. 🧐

Firstly, well done for those things you have achieved and ticked off! 👏

Secondly, look at the tasks which you still haven't got round to and ask yourself;
⏰ Is it worth your time to do yourself?
⏰ Are you realistically going to have or find the time?
