Senior Payroll Administrator
Location: Uckfield East Sussex
Reports to: Payroll Manager
Salary: £14.50 -£16.20 per hour
30 hours Monday to Friday (office based) - 1–2 days of hybrid working may be considered, subject to business needs.

The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our small but highly professional, friendly, and experienced Payroll team at Head Office.
As a Senior Payroll Administrator, you will report directly to the Payroll Manager and play a vital role in the smooth and efficient running of the department. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work accurately under tight payroll deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage end-to-end payroll processing using Sage 50 Payroll and Sage HR
• Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of payroll records
• Handle accounts payable activities related to payroll
• Liaise with pharmacy managers and employees, responding to queries regarding salary, absence, and entitlements
• Work closely with HR teams to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Analyse payroll data to identify discrepancies and potential improvements
• Support the implementation and ongoing use of payroll systems, including Sage HR
• Maintain strict confidentiality and security of employee data
• Assist with ad hoc payroll and HR projects as required
About You
• Proven experience in payroll administration
• Confident working with payroll systems (experience with Sage 50 Payroll and Sage HR would be advantageous)
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
• Strong data entry and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
• Calm and professional approach under pressure
• Previous HR-related payroll experience is desirable
