Exciting news! We will be closed this Wednesday 31st July to move into our new office premises. Our new address from 1st August 2024 will be - 5 Miles Ward Court, Market Place, Halesworth IP19 8AY. Access via the archway near Boots. We look forward to seeing all current customers and any potential new clients from this address.

The new VAT reverse charge comes into effect on 1st March. This, in our opinion, has not been very well advertised by HMRC. If you are in the construction industry this is important for you. The link below will give you some guidance. Software companies have been a little slow in getting on board with this but we have now heard from Quickbooks. Still awaiting information from Sage.

We have noticed that there appear to be a lot to telephone scams at the moment. If you get any scam calls a useful website to report them to is https://www.bt.com/help/home/scams. This helps to get them shut down quicker.

If anyone is interested we will shortly be acquiring a number of Quickbooks licenses at discounted prices. We can offer these licenses to clients for £15 plus VAT per month for the life of the product. Anyone interested in this offer could have a license only agreement with us and would not have to use our book keeping services unless they wanted to.

If you are a local business wishing to participate in the scheme follow this link to sign up to the scheme - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/register-your-establishment-for-the-eat-out-to-help-out-scheme. If you need any help with your registration we would be happy to assist. HMRC are asking for quite a bit of detail about your business so to save any stress we would suggest you have all your details to hand.

From 3 to 31 August, get a 50% discount when you eat in at restaurants that are registered with the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme.

On a more up to date matter HMRC have extended the deadline for self assessment tax payments due on 31st July 2020 to 31st January 2021.

We have recently had some success in dealing with issues with utilities providers on behalf of clients. This has given us some useful contacts at high level within some of these organisations. If you are having problems with a utility provider and would like some help give us a call.

Good morning. The start of another busy week and the ongoing issues around Covid 19. We hope you are all safe and well.

Just in case you are not aware - from 1 July 2020, a furloughed employee or worker can agree with their employer to be put on 'flexible furlough'. This means they can work some of their usual hours and be put on furlough for the hours they do not work.

This can be a difficult time for both employers and staff. It's a good idea to make sure staff have a way to communicate with the employer and other people they work with.

Another busy week in store. Payments for VAT period end 06/20 are due tomorrow. Hopefully the Chancellor will be announcing some key strategies to help businesses when he speaks this week. I'm sure we would all agree that a reduction in VAT (and any other taxes) would be most welcome at the moment!
